I enjoyed Dragon Age: Origins more than The Witcher and Witcher 2. [editline]29th July 2013[/editline] Still enjoyed the Witcher games though.
Planetside 2 is shit compared to WW2 Online.
I also LOVED DA:O's combat.
cod is shit
I hate retro aesthetics. Striving to make your game look like it was on the NES just makes the game look like horseshit.
I hate retro aesthetics. Striving to make your game look like it was on the NES just makes the game look like horseshit.
it can be done right, but 9 out of 10 times it looks like shit.
Its especially annoying when there are examples of pixel art done amazingly RIGHT in Indie games. Just using pixel art as a medium, not to try and emulate inferior fidelity. Sword & Sworcery is an absolutely gorgeous game. More indie titles should follow its example.
Aesthetics are more important than Graphics. CS:GO is the best CS in the series. Spec Ops: The Line was a very fun and enthralling game. Doom and Quake are both chronically boring series'. Unreal tops that shit.
they're pretty different games, though.
yeah i know, i just prefer the exploration that sunshine offers than the entire travel to planet from planet gimmick of galaxy. galaxy has still some gorgeous music and really good-looking levels though.
World of Warcraft is fun as shit, if you bring some pals along for the ride. It doesn't rub off on me as some sort of turbonerd thing.
yeah i know, i just prefer the exploration that sunshine offers than the entire travel to planet from planet gimmick of galaxy. galaxy has still some gorgeous music and really good-looking levels though.
why do you call it a gimmick? it's just a more linear game, the planet to planet thing is just their way of segmenting the levels
People who dislike the Crysis franchise generally over-estimate the importance of the graphics in those games.
I think sniper segments in first person shooters are just terrible. Sit down, wait for enemy to walk over to point A, shoot, wait for enemy to walk over to point B, shoot, etc. etc. It's so boring and tedious, it detracts the fun from the shooter.
I prefer Pay to Play MMORPG(Pay a subscription each month) over the F2P Microtransaction model.
I prefer Pay to Play MMORPG(Pay a subscription each month) over the F2P Microtransaction model.
I prefer anything over F2P. F2P needs to die.
I like F2P when nothing is for sale except cosmetics.
Brink wasn't a sack of shit it was okay I guess
I prefer anything over F2P. F2P needs to die.
TF2 is the only case were F2P is done right
People need to rethink their words when they feel like stating a game is a "Piece of shit" or other statements like that. Some games really are terrible, while most "shit" games are just not as good compared to others.
TF2 is the only case were F2P is done right
Dota 2?
TF2 is the only case were F2P is done right
Planetside 2 is pretty good for F2P.
frag movies aren't dumb if they're done right
I hated Bioshock. I absolutely hated it. [sp]I liked Infinite though.[/sp]
Which is never because a studio cannot survive off of just cosmetic sales. The F2P system is fundamentally flawed. Cosmetic sales will not net enough money to survive and people will only buy other goods if they are somewhat unique or powerful or to skip the typically horrendous grind. This leads to it being extremely easy to reap the rewards of releasing overpowered goods for cash at murderous prices. Not to mention the actual costs of playing a F2P game are triple to even quadruple that of normal boxed or subbed games. To get a $60-game's worth of content in a F2P game you usually have to spend upwards of $100. I've seen some F2P games where some players have said they have easily dropped over $500 into their accounts. These games are specifically designed so you cannot play them to any enjoyable extent without dropping tons of dosh so the whole idea of being "free to play" is utter trash. I don't know about you, but I don't like grinding for several days straight just to unlock a single gun. I don't even have a life either, imagine what it would be like for someone who works a job or has a family. Yes non-F2P games have grinds too but they are NOWHERE near as bad. (Since there is no reason to be, as you already paid for the game).
Don't you play Dota? That's a completely free to play game whose entire shtick is cosmetics. For Christ's sake, they're hosting a tournament where half the prize money is coming straight from Valve's pocket. F2P games can most certainly exist - so long as the company has the base to back it up and the ability to restrain themselves from going full-on cashgrab mode.
I didn't like Hitman: Absolution and Max Payne 3.
Brink wasn't a sack of shit it was okay I guess
Brink had it's problems but it looked nice, had great customisation and it had potential to be something more but the developers abandoned it.
Runescape 3 is not as bad as people make it to be.
TF2 is the only case were F2P is done right
TF2 got stuck between like 3 different payment models at once and was in a weird transitional period between them all. To say it's perfect would be horribly wrong. Dota 2 would be much, much closer.
Dota 2?
Well anything Valve.
Operation: Raccoon City wasn't that bad on PC, sure the cover system was utterly fucked and enemy A.I blocked each other, but allies were moderately intelligent, guns fun to use and graphics pretty nice for a console port. Give the game PC style controls (aka no auto cover) and first person view and i'm sure it could have been a solid 7 to 8. A little more polish, essentially. Still enjoyed it more than Borderlands.
