Not enough games have permadeath or give the feeling of actually loosing something when you die.
I'm sick of people getting a bug up their ass whenever someone wants to ATTEMPT to appeal to gamers that aren't the stereotypical white male.
Fuck your attempt. Fuck your desire to improve the medium as a whole. Joe Assfuck needs another negro-shooting, tit-jiggling escape fantasy, and that's what's making money.
My absolutely honest opinion:
I like Dragon Age 2.
I hate Mass Effect 1's everything, except the story and universe which are top notch. The gameplay, the look, the stiffness of the animations, the elevators, just... urgh. The blue-as-smurf-dicks Normandy literally gave me a headache.
aesthetics are important
Graphics aren't, but aesthetics are. For me anyway
I really dislike Mortal Kombat, SoulCalibur, and other similar games
Brink wasn't a sack of shit
it was okay I guess
I really think Brink 2 needs to be made, but NOT by Bethesda. There is a lot of potential they've wasted. The soundtrack is pretty damn good, but the gunplay is shit, gun customization is shit, the Security has better clothes than the Resistance while the Resistance has better face gear, and how MP and SP basically blend in is shit.
I feel there is a lot of the Ark that people deserve to see. I want the story to be told not through audio logs.

And let's not forget to mention it doesn't even run on most people's PC's when they've just bought it, and they need to fix it themselves. There's never been a patch for the occasional crashes bullshit.
Playing games on Console and playing them on PC, are 2 total different experiences, for instants I had no idea that the early GTA games (3, Vice City, and SA) Had loading screens between the islands.
And also, GTA:SA had the Shittest missions of all time, like the one were you have to go dance the fucking car.
Also Part 2, Fallout NV is the best game i have ever played in my life, and i love it to death, despite the fact the it crashes all the time and looks like shit, I will love that game till the end of time
Kind of related to games, but Steam is fucking dumb and all other services like it are as well.
I hate the trend of publishers moving to integrate Steamworks into their games, meaning no matter where you get your game from you need to have a Steam account to play it. Just Cause 2, Skyrim, Total War, Call of Duty etc and the list goes on and on. I really don't like the principle of having to have an account to play a game. Steam is worse than others because it is slow as, even on a quad core computer; and despite being out for years it still has tonnes of bugs which piss me off (like clicking on the icon on my taskbar but nothing happens, so I have to right click on it and click on one of the tasks to maximise it).
Things like Origin are dumb too, but at least they are programmed better and don't have the unnecessary clutter that the Steam service has. Honestly who actually gives a fuck about that trading card shit on Steam.
Sometimes I just don't like progression and would rather cheat everything in at the start and use all the toys in the box
I just hate limits and restrictions, what if I want the supermegadicksmasher90000 at level 1 because I don't feel like hours of building up and grind
This is kinda why I hate MMO's, I see the people in big armour fighting the huge titan monsters while I'm smacking shrubs with a leather boot on my head and will continue to do so for many many hours and I just think I'd rather be doing that right now
The accomplishment of getting there legit must be amazing but forcing yourself to suffer through countless dull hours defeats the point of even bothering

i guess its just because you know what to expect at the higher levels from seeing other people at that stage. thats actually one of the biggest problems i had with WoW, especially when you're starting a new character. its just not as rewarding.
GTA:SA had the Shittest missions of all time, like the one were you have to go dance the fucking car.
I kind of agree, and it seems like people here focus on the missions. I don't, and I don't personally know anyone who do; I just do random bullshit all the time, anything but missions, which is where I think it succeeds in being a great god damn hilarious game
"Tactical realism" shooters are not fun unless you know the people you're playing with closely, otherwise they're either dull or frustrating.
Treyarch makes way better CoD games because they embrace fun silliness instead of trying to be hardcore
Civilization is very easy to learn from just playing a game.
Pokemon designs ARE getting progressively weirder not necessarily worse.
Turn based JRPGS can be good if they have lots of diversity in their roster of characters and moves and are rigorously balanced as to avoid crazy OP shit.
Grinding shouldn't be necessary to beat the game.
My first Nintendo games were on a DS and I think that they are still good even without nostalgia for them.
Randomized level ups ala Fire Emblem are an ideal way of doing things and make an RPG more interesting, buy potentially ruining a normally good character and leaving you to use the less popular alternatives.
In RPGs (or any game with a choice), I like the feeling that I'm missing out on something due to my choices. That to me means there's more to experience that I can come back to.
I hate linear games now. A lot of people can agree with me, and a lot of people can disagree. But, whenever I play a linear game I end up beating it in 2-4 days and then I Throw it off to the side. I hate when I throw it off to the side. This is one of the reasons why I love Garrysmod, it has no end.
I prefer using pump-action shotguns to lever-action shotguns, the sound and visual action of the slide being racked is so much more satisfying than a lever being flipped around, even if it's being done Terminator 2 style
But both are more fun than automatic shotguns.

Yu-Gi-Oh! games are very entertaining on a handheld.
I agree, they have a charm. I don't know if it means anything, but it feels cozy playing cards.
Pokemon is a watered down version of most RPG's, I honestly don't see the appeal aside from casualness.
I strongly dissagree. Pokemon is very unique and can't be compared to other games.
TF2 was great until it got turned into an unbalanced sold-out piece of trash.
Bioshock Infinite was an overhyped parody of the first two games.
I admit that the gameplay and everything for new vegas was technically better but I just felt like the whole thing was bland and I just didnt have the same awesome feeling as when I played fallout 3
I did literally everything you could do in fallout 3 but in new vegas I played one of the sides of the main quest once, did a couple of side missions and never played it again
that was probably because you played all through fallout 3 first, and new vegas was almost identical graphics/gameplay/gunplay wise due to budget cuts and time restraints , so you felt like you were playing the same shit and didn't have that "WOAH I AM PLAYING A COOL GAME" feeling you did when you first played fo3.
I think less of people who regularly play TF2.
I really hate realistic racers. I mean, If you asked me what the greatest ever Racing game is, I'd say Flatout: Ultimate Carnage, Because when I play a racing game I want to just put on some music, hold down the accelerator and things explode around me.
And maybe do a sick jump every now and again.
You can keep your realistic driving experiences and extensive tuning buttfuckery.
too many decisions and choices
sure, it does add replayability but I don't usually play through games twice or thrice because of small changes

oh I meant that I hate it
robotfindskitten is criminally underappreciated.
There is no such thing as an "overpowered" weapon. If a weapon is good, then it's good. Deal with it. If someone's weapon is more powerful than yours, stop bitching and change your strategy instead of whining "omg so op nerf plz"

Weapon superiority frequently tends to collide with the way people actually want to play the game. Can you really blame someone for not picking the best possible strategy if they find it to be boring as shit? Overpowered weapons should not be balanced out with others using the same overpowered weapons, because that would enforce a very limited form of gameplay.

I don't mean to balance them out with the same or similar weapons, I mean to "out-think" the opponent. Strategize. For example, flank your enemy or sneak up on them, as opposed to blindly rushing towards them spraying your weapon all over the place.

I played Fallout 3 Before I played NV, and the second I played NV I liked it more then 3, I didn't experience the "WOAH I AM PLAYING A COOL GAME" thing that you are talking about with Fallout 3, I just found the game boring, and unlikable, It took me about 10 months after buying Fallout 3 to beat it (Took me like 10 days to beat NV after buying it), I was never drawn in to it like I was NV. To this day, I have about 240 hours in NV and I am Currently on my way to beating the game for my 7th time, Well in FO3 I have 71 and have Beat the game 1 time, and when I did so, It was In Godmode shooting Mini Nukes at everything.
Morel of the story:Don't buy Fallout 3 it is shit
