PC are badass. The sad part is, Mac OSX doesnt need a badass computer to run on, cause its much more efficient :eng101: . If only everyone used mac and windows would never excist in the first place, our supercomputers would be even faster :buddy:
I don't like these threads. They are the ultimate shitstorms, because most people posting in them are extremely biased. The people who buy Macs just because it looks nice and has an Apple logo on can go screw themselves, but I have nothing against those who have an actual argument for it. Those who do the first are extremely stupid and silly. Don't go buy something so you can say "Hurr durr, it is nice". Go buy it so you can say "This fits my needs, it does what I need as fast as I need it".
I'm not a fanboy of either Windows or Mac (infact the only thing PC related that I'm a fanboy of is custom assembled computers) but I just couldn't hold out from saying how elitest and stupid this picture is. Monitor - http://store.apple.com/au/product/M9179X/A - Although as expensive as shit its only competitor I've noticed is one made by Dell. Apple Keyboards are rather generic though, but you can still use third party keyboards, which makes that picture stupid and purely biased Apple mice suck as well, but yet again you can use third party mice (even gaming mice like an MX518 can be set up and used on a Mac of course) Don't have much to say about USB though. Don't have to say much about the case, Apple cases sure do look fine, but then again I do like my computer's case. I suppose a point worth mentioning is that you can get tonnes of cases for PCs which all have different features (large size, LEDs etc) so PC of course wins that Macs can run games alright, they have games native to Mac (and Steam's recent release on Mac has helped that) but they can also run Windows as well. The newest Macbooks have GT330Ms or something rather (roughly comparable to a 9600GT/9800GT I think) but alright for a laptop I guess. And I'm pretty sure you can put your GPUs into Mac Pros which make this argument also redundant, but to go to all that trouble it does cost alot. That picture is pretty stupid and elitest. However it is true Macs do cost tonnes more to have the same power as a Windows equilevant. That's just my take, couldn't hold it back. And by the way I've never owned a Mac before and never plan to get one, and the only good Mac is the Mac Pro but even then it's overpriced shit.
Way to completely miss the point of the image
Yeah, you're right, because the Portal turret only needs to be pushed gently to fail, while the TF2-turret can take a missile.
It all makes sense now.
Yeah, you're right, because the Portal turret only needs to be pushed gently to fail, while the TF2-turret can take a missile.
And the portal turret has infinite ammo and a better intelligent targetting system. TF2 turret has level Three :smug:
Shithead mac fanboy who has the insults of a twelve year old
Dear fucking god I just had a fucking brain haemorrhage from that I am so pissed off.
And the portal turret has infinite ammo and a better intelligent targetting system. TF2 turret has level Three :smug:
Better intelligent targeting system? The sentry can shoot you from anywhere and from any angle, the portal turret only shoots straight.
It's ironic how people are bashing Apple because of fanboyism.
The PC vs. Mac commercials are so stupid it hurts watching them [editline]11:41AM[/editline] also this thread is now Portal Turret vs Sentry Gun
By far my favorite
http://www.apple.com/why-mac/ I'm going to debunk all these claims : It's designed to be a better computer : My current desktop PC is 3 years old now, it runs Win7-64bit, never had any serious issues with it, never had a hardware issue, it's been moved house twice and stayed in storage 6 months in a garage. I'd say it's fairly reliable. My Laptop was bought in 2004, runs CrunchBang linux and boots in 20 seconds, it's been carried in a bag A LOT, it's been in two fights and quite a few festivals. Still runs fine today, also reliable. So at the very least Mac = PC here. It comes with software you'll love to use : My Windows machine may not come with a whole suite of software, but after about an hour I have already got most of what I'll ever use up and running. So I lose an hour, but I have software I chose, and not software you're trying to force-feed me. My laptop has Crunchbang linux, most of what I use comes pre-installed (in a 620MB installer might I add) and it uses Aptitude and Synaptic, so all software I'll ever need are literally a mouse click away. Linux pwns Mac here, and Windows is on par. It comes with the world's most advanced OS : By what standards. If you're talking security, I'll take Linux over Mac ANY day. Mac are actually more vulnerable to viruses these days than Windows is, and it's Unix-based system without the root/user seperation is REALLY dangerous. If you're talking ease of use, Windows is pretty family-friendly and so are most modern Linux distros. If you're talking speed and performance, Linux will kick Macs ass, and the memeory and processor requirements are lesser on Windows than on Mac for equivalent software (at least, that's the case for 3ds Max and Photoshop CS5, which I just checked out). Note: I didn't mention the price of equivalent hardware on both systems, just the fact that Mac needs twice the RAM, about 50% more processor, and a few cartloads more hard-drive space. It comes with award-winning support : Apparently with PC it's hard to figure out who to call. Well if you bought it pre-built from a vendor, I hope you're smart enough to call said vendor. And if you built it yourself, well you should have a faint idea of what exactly broke down, and call the vendor of that piece of hardware. Also, I thought Macs were built to last and had a superior OS, why would a Mac user need support? It runs Office and works with your existing PC files : I bloody well hope so. It WAS built and designed within the last 15 years, right? It's compatible with your stuff : No it isn't. I have an Archos 404 right here, it's standard USB stuff, but Mac doesn't like it for some reason, to get some songs on it the other day from a Mac computer, I had to link up the Mac to my laptop via LAN, and plug the Archos into that, and transfer files over that way. It doesn't get PC viruses : I really can't remember the last time I heard about a virus. Really doesn't worry me. It's loaded with the latest technology : When you buy it. But two years later, what are you going to do? On this machine, I've upgraded the Video card, I've added RAM, I've gotten a better sound card for making music. It runs Windows and Windows applications : 1 - Why would you want Windows if Mac is SO superior that it was worth spending twice as much? 2 - http://wiki.osx86project.org/wiki/index.php/Main_Page (Yes, it's about running OSX on PC hardware, turns out it often runs better than the over-priced "better designed" Mac harware.
