some old reader rabbit game. I remember I was terrible at it and when my baby sitter beat it (it was simply math and word problems) it blew I'm fucking mind.
Halo: Combat Evolved
My dad and I played it so much that he nicknamed me "Chief"
this is the most heartwarming thing i've seen all day.

Cro-Mag Rally on my iMac G3. Best racing game ever.
Super Mario 64 at age 3 I think
Once I encountered a bug and thought the cartridge was haunted. Took a week before I dared touching the game again.

I fucking remember this game! It was pretty surreal.
To this day I don't know what it's called.
A Russian thing, wolf catching eggs.
Nu pogodi on a Game n watch-like thing,right?
The earliest I can remember is probably Freddy Fish (or anything else from Humongous)
Ducktales, followed by Super Mario Bros.
Super Mario World.

I remember only having the first episode and the shareware episode in it.
Pokemon Red. Then some asshole deleted my save file and I never bothered with Pokemon ever again
Jane's Apache AH-64FD
Sadly, only a handful of screens are available. I also used my copy of the disc for an artistic "hanging sheet of discs" when I was like 15 or some shit. Regardless, this is the first game I played on a computer.. I was ~7-8 at the time (maybe), and my dad had finally saved up enough cash to buy a PC for the family to use - this came bundled with the computer, and I spent hundreds of hours trying to play it. It was all much too complicated for a 7 year old, but after a few months I was able to take off, hover, move, & do emergency maneuvers (as well as landing) in full simulation mode. Things like attacking targets were extremely difficult, though, and I spent a lot of time jamming the chaff toggle while panicking and trying to land (I was not much of an aggressive apache pilot in my youth). This is the only game my father ever actually played, as well - up until Crysis (and sequels) were released.

As a matter of fact, PC-gaming in my childhood was a hell of a lot of Jane's flight simulators - ranging the entire gamut. I didn't play Diablo, etc, but I knew all about aircraft flight models, engagement ranges, appropriate maneuvers etc by the time I was in fifth grade. Some samples of my nostalgia..
Jane's USAF
The first time I performed a spiralling S-turn and looped into a lock-on on a MiG-27 was a moment of tremendous accomplishment. I can still feel USAF when I think about it. This game was the vehicle through which I also learnt about radar & stealth technology of the time (prompting a long discussion with my dad on the B-2 bomber and it's actual capabilities in combat, including some theorizing on domestic surveillance use and how useful the B-2 would have been during Vietnam)

Actually that's about it. I played those two games for YEARS, combined with chessmaster 5000 & Mavis Beacon Teaches Typing.
Then the Nintendo 64 came out, my sisters and I started playing Mario Party all the time, and everyone in the household gradually got stupid.
Doom shareware edition.
SNES, "King of Dragons"

Still haven't beat it.
Metal Gear Solid on the PS1, god damn those were good times, i was probably 5 at the time.
Probably Alley Cat for the commodore, circa 1984. My dad works at a hospital, and in the late eighties it was the only place I ever saw a personal computer.

But the first I remember owning and playing regularly was a Game And Watch handheld Donkey Kong Jr I inherited from my brother.
[t]http://cdn.visualnews.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/03/Donkey-Kong-Jr.pngp[/t]
Fallout 2 when I was about 6 or so. I had no idea what was happening though.
Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past
It was my grandpa's game and I got it when he died. I was 3 at the time, and I started playing it when I was 4. Still didn't delete his save file.
I got in a bad car accident when I was three. Since I was young and actually fairly unharmed I lost interest in the hospital room they stuck me in very quickly before I spied an NES sitting on a shelf across the room. I thought it was a weird VHS player and that I would be able to watch Moo Mesa or some kiddie shit, so I asked my older brother to hook it up for me. Imagine my face when this popped up on the screen:

They wrapped one of my arms up in a brace to keep me from moving it and messing with the IV they put in so I couldn't get past the second level but holy hell was it the best thing ever.
Playing by myself? Really can't remember because I had an older brother who played all sorts of games, but I do recall him playing Quake loads, and then I remember both of us shitting our pants trying to play Half Life, we really couldn't make it far past the resonance cascade. After that there was a load of Age of Empires, Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit, Jazz the Jackrabbit and then this fucking game:

We didn't have the full game, only the demo, but my god we played it loads
Star Wars Episode 1 Racer
I used to race against my dad almost every day. Watching videos of it just now, I realized I still remember which pods and tracks I liked the most, and which ones I hate.
I remember disliking the parts merchant (whatever his name is) because he was rude :v:
