I really hate when people won't shut up about games they know you have absolutely zero interest in. All my irl friends do this, I don't play mmos but they insist on telling me every microscopic fucking details on the game constantly breaking my concentration so I can't continue what I was previously doing. (And yes, they all know that I have zero interest in them. I tell them this every single time they bring one up. They just completely ignore me and continue talking about them...)

It has to do with my ISP, Cox, who don't care for people who have to upload. I'm on the normal package where I can get up to 20 Mbps downloading, but they dumb down the upload speeds to [b]2 Mbps[/b]. The most expensive and highest package you can go outside of going business-class is only [b]5 Mbps[/b]. It is not possible for me to go any higher than that, and I've double checked with others and found that they're getting ~10 Mbps up in places out of Vegas. CenturyLink is even slower and Cox pretty much dominates this city. I can't really go elsewhere. An untrustworthy random source says that the dumbed down upload speeds is part of their way of cracking down on piracy, but I'm not sure if that's true. I do know Cox is coming down pretty hard on pirates as of late but if that's true then it makes me even more irritated. The fact is if I could shell out extra money for extra upload speed I would, but apparently that money isn't any good and they don't care enough for customers. (I'm sure I'm not the only one in Vegas.)
