Now I'm definitely not saying stop doing that, but you do have to take the initiative sometimes. For example, have friend who I kind of liked. I was always there for her, and after two years, was more thought of as a brother. Now look at my current relationship. I did the same thing, but for about two weeks, then took the plunge. Worked fine. Now it turned out to be a mutual attraction, which is going to be easier. But my point still stands. Definitely keep being the nice guy you are, but take the initiative and ask her out. Don't wait.
