Toilets and other plumbing. I don't know why, but I'm always afraid that if I use it, it's going to break or something is going to go horribly wrong and make a huge mess or flood half the damn house. This fear evolved from a childhood fear of the toilet trying to flush me down.

Taking a shower in this house. This fear is slightly more realistic because if ANYONE runs ANY FUCKING water ANYWHERE in the house, you will get scalded. Horribly. The guy who did the plumbing in this house when it was built was fucking retarded. Everyone knows that thankfully, but I'm always afraid of someone forgetting.

The dark. Less irrational since many people are, but the reason behind it is childish. It's not the dark itself, it's what could lurk in it. I am a heavy believer in ghosts. And no matter how many times people tell me that most ghosts are harmless, I can't help but feel as if they all would want to hurt me. Not to mention, even a friendly ghost to me (not like casper :l) would be terrifying.

Along with that, being alone, for the very same reason. If everyone is gone or asleep, I get extremely uncomfortable and I start freaking the fuck out with every tiny sound I didn't cause, even in the middle of the daytime and when all the lights are on.
Oddly enough, I'm not affected if I'm outside alone at day or night. Only within buildings or houses.

I hate all these. My mom thinks they're complete bullshit and I'm just making this up to get out of doing -x-. And it's not. It makes me feel pathetic and misunderstood.
Since no one has heard of some of the reasoning behind these, I can't find anything to help me. And thinking "there's no such thing as ghosts" or "nothing will go wrong" does diddly squat, in fact, it makes it worse sometimes.
