Also because maybe the state wouldn't be able to afford to pay for the transition if they decide to give all students computers? And what's wrong with writing anyways? I like writing, I'd consider it an art and it's how you can display your character in ways. Only time I ever got tired of writing was doing four pages in one hour for a certain exam, and I was still willing to push on. Anyways one thing that gets me mad is being around people who just talk about video games. Seriously, if that's all you can find something to talk about, then you should probably stop playing them. Studying in the library is annoying because the Yr7-10 kids who generally go there won't stop yelling about Battlefield or Minecraft and won't mention anything else. So I generally try to avoid the library unless studying with friends. My friends used to talk about them alot now and I did too, but now we've kind of expanded what we talk about and rarely mention games. Conversations are actually fun and engaging now, and we don't scare away girls now. I guess the hatred may be because I don't play games much anymore, but whatever. I don't mind being away from computers for extended periods of time anyways, probably why I'm pumped for a week long cruise with my group and others after end of Year 12 this year (schoolies).

But writing is too hard, it gives me wrist pains and when I'm done smashing my pen on the paper its hardly readable. I type so much faster then I do write. Schools waste a lot of paper too, like a shitload of paper goes to waste.

If you REALLY want you can pick up a cheap one capable of web browsing and playing video games [provided you buy a powersupply and video card] for ~$200. Portables are the same amount about. You can get a 13' laptop for ~$300. I don't understand why everyone thinks computers are so expensive. You see almost every kid walking around with a high-powered Android or expensive iPhone [Many over here have the 4s and Galaxy S2 + Nexus.]

I also go to school in a poor socioeconomic area, it's not like most families here could afford such things.
