No, it's a supplemental preference that basically tells you how content you are. Turbulent people are self-conscious, want to improve themselves, and are probably envious. Assertive people are more confident, and they probably don't get upset about their own flaws and mistakes. There are questions in the test directly related to this.

i used to be intj for the longest time, but then i went through a period of abuse of disassociative drugs, a few rolls of mdma, and working full time for a year and now i am infp-a. i used to be afraid of social interaction but now i find myself enjoying it to a certain extent, it is far easier to me at the least. i love thinking of weird and impractical shit but i find it hard to concentrate on anything for too long. i'm pretty happy with who i am as a person overall.

I got the Debater, which to be completely honest, I'm not that surprised at all about. It's neat that one of the famous Debaters it listed was Adam Savage, a guy I'm a huge fan of (not surprising though, since a few of my friends have compared me to him in terms of how much I geek out over mixing creativity and tech).
That being said, I think the website nails the concept of a Debater weakness being easily argumentative- I've had to catch myself sometimes to keep from arguing with people over fairly innocuous things in the past.

Got the same result on one of these test like 10 years back too. Haven't seen that A/T split before though, had a 90% A result whatever that means.
