Being non-American, to me a 'liberal' is what most Americans call a conservative or libertarian. Strong belief in the free market, small(ish) government, large amounts of personal freedom. [editline]16th September 2016[/editline] You know, the main themes of liberalism as an ideology.
Hilarious when american conservatives who say liberals (but mean Democrats) are marxists (but mean communists but actually mean stalinists) Imagine the logic putting neoliberals and communists in the same bucket.
every time i see someone accuse obama of being a marxist I think "buddy, I wish."
better than a republican
Words like "Left" and "Right" or "Liberal" or "Conservative" are meaningless, made up bullshit that only exist to further divide political beliefs. If they ever had meaning they've been corrupted into name-calling insults. Disagree with someone and they're either a "Liberal Idiot" or "Conservative Bigot" All it leads to is people thinking "wait, I agree with some of the stuff there so I guess I have to agree with all of it or I'm a phony" Healthy people should have a mixture of both "Left" and "Right" political beliefs anyway.
