Your test scores indicate that you are an open-minded ultra-progressive; this is the political profile one might associate with a university professor. It appears that you are skeptical towards religion, and have a balanced attitude towards humanity in general.
Your attitudes towards economics appear communist, and combined with your social attitudes this creates the picture of someone who would generally be described as a humanist.
To round out the picture you appear to be, political preference aside, a sensible principled egalitarian with many strong convictions.
I wouldn't really agree with the humanist part tbh
I'm so afraid of being old enough to vote.
I don't know who I'd choose, they all seem to be pretty shit.

It's important that you find yourself in politics. Remember that not all political options are represented by candidates and elections. It's just as legitimate to find no political solutions in the political realm than to have a candidate or ideology worth voting on. The important thing is to understand it all and make informed decisions. If they all seem like shit to you, it may be because they are.

So apparently I am a socialist.
I am also a nationalist.
Does that make me a national socialist? Oh well.

Vote for the people and not the party (With the exception of Sinn fein and the Greens in my case, because I'm in total opposition to their policies or past), I've voted for Fine Gael, Fianna Fail and Independent candidates in the past, due to the merit of the candidate and not the party, even amongst all the shite there's always one lad that stands out as less worse then the rest.

Your test scores indicate that you are a very tough-minded cultural centrist; this is the political profile one might associate with a nihilist. It appears that you are skeptical towards religion, and have a balanced attitude towards humanity in general.
Your attitudes towards economics appear socialist, and combined with your social attitudes this creates the picture of someone who would generally be described as a social democrat.
To round out the picture you appear to be, political preference aside, a sensible radical centrist with few strong convictions.

Moderate libertarians everywhere it seems.
I think right-wing libertarianism is one of the most-obvious alignments. Small government and free market - Ron Paul's wet dream. Left-wing libertarianism is the most confusing because it implies that government isn't needed for everyone to work towards a common goal. When in reality, the lack of government presence will lead to everyone wanting to fuck over and exploit everyone else.
This presumes Libertarianism is about government, which is false- libertarianism is about the state across the spectrum. There is a distinction and that matters. It matters far more to left-libertarians than to right, but philosophically they're both based around limiting the state, often to enhance the value of governance. The main difference between left- and right-wing libertarianism deals almost exclusively with why there is distrust of the state. These ideologies are based out of separate philosophies- left-wing from Marxism and anti-liberalism, and right-wing out of liberalism and Lockean conceptions of markets. The end conclusions come almost entirely on the justification of commerce and the market in the exchange of property. Left-wing comes to the conclusion that monetary exchange is not sufficient to overcome the Labor Theory of Property, which is the basis for property relations in both ideologies, while right-wing argues that monetary exchange is a justified method of overcoming the LTP. You can read about Locke and the LTP here.
The ideologies really aren't that different in their philosophy, but they come to different conclusions on the issue of property, which therefore leads to major differences in the end society.
Also, you imply that human nature is a thing that matters but this is addressed by a multitude of theorists from Marx to Locke with varying results, the end one being that no one is really justified to speak as though human nature is understood or static.

this is why I dislike it when people say "oh if you don't vote you can't talk about politics"

Well shit. It actually got it right for once.
these political surveys aren't that comprehensive but they do point in the right direction. i got anarcho-collectivist even though i am anything but an anarchist or ron pauler. in reality i believe in mixed economics, a democratic system, and the protection of minorities - along with a well educated and aware society
Quite crazy to realise liberalism is such a new thing to us. For most of the time, the world had authoritarianism with basically no middle class, and nothing resembling either socialism or liberalism. It was more of a taxed anarchy. It took so much time to come to where we are now. Insane to think that 25 years ago East Europe was 100% knee deep in authoritarianism, and about 90% in the left spectrum, with basically no other players on the market except for the govt.

I wish there were more economic questions out there, because I feel strongly that we should have programs like medicare and social security and welfare, but our first responsibility in creating those programs is allocating enough money for them so that they actually work.

Duh. Any and all third parties have zero chance of gaining any real influence in America, unless some very big events happen.
There are only two non-democrats/republicans in the senate, for example. And zero in the house of representatives.

I like this test because it makes this thread actually interesting with some varied results. The politicaltest and political compass basically are just "lower left" and "social democrat cosmopolitan" 75% of the time, while these atleast have a 50/50 chance to be "university professor" or "nihilist."
Overall, facepunch ain't that diverse (without yawmwen and whoever that north korea sympathizer was, that is.)
