I fucking loved GTA2, if R* ever announced they were remaking it I think I'd have a stroke. Loonies for life.
GTA 4 because endorphin and mods Amazing car destruction too, makes other sandbox games look like fucking SHIT Ragdolls and pre determined car damage? lmao w/e don't even care
I wanted to say GTA IV because of the fantastic RAGE but then I realised that I prefer the GTA III Liberty City way more than the GTA IV Liberty City.
Vice City. All day Vice City. I can lose myself for hours in Vice City even after completing it 100%. I just don't get the same feel for San Andreas, even though that's an absolute superb fucking game.
I don't know which GTA game I would call the best but I had the most fun with San Andreas.
Vice City for its stellar characters, setting, music and plot San Andreas for its great content, good characters (not as good as vice city IMO) and gameplay
San Andreas is definitely the best at the moment (Most polished, most content, insane amounts of detail, incredible story, extremely memorable characters, etc). VC is more fun however. V will for sure be the best, if it lives up to the hype.
Why didn't you make a poll?
san andreas
San Andreas because of the countryside lands and missions and airplanes and mountains
I have to say GTA2 but everyone already said that so I'll give my word on other personal favorite. GTA: Vice City Stories Never played Vice City much, but I got my hands on Vice City Stories and I really loved it. GTA: San Andreas Okay...okay...This is like a lot of peoples favorite. Working out in the gym, getting fat, airplanes, mods, it's all perfect. GTA: Liberty City I mainly played this one for the storyline.
GTA SA introduced me into so much music, I loved all the things you could do I never got bored of playing that on my PS2 GTA 4 was great because of its technology and its physics, had fun trying to get people to re-hijack their car and drive away with them holding on to the door
Man, I wish I hadn't had played IV first. Now I just can't get into Vice City and San Andreas. GTA 2 was amazing though.

Just ride any bicycle around LS before doing any missions and you should get used to it within 10 minutes.
Grove Street 4 lyf
San Andreas and 2
I'm gonna have to say GTA III because it was the first GTA game I was really into as a kid, it felt really gritty and everything.
GTA III is the one I have put the most time into and it is also the first one I have ever played.
GTA: San Andreas Okay...okay...This is like a lot of peoples favorite. Working out in the gym, getting fat, airplanes, mods, it's all perfect.
Dude, for some (me especially) it's more than that. More then just "working out in the gym" and, "getting fat" as you put it. It's fun. More fun then any other GTA game i've played on any platform. Now... I've played heaps of games. Rpgs, horror, action, stealth and lots others. GTA ranks somewhere on a top 20 best video games ever list for me. Who can forget dual wielding two snubbed shotguns, while using the infinite ammo cheat? You would be a walking death machine! It was classic! GTA III for me, was more of the 'nostalgic' kind of GTA. Y'know? Going around, causing mayhem. In a New York style paradise. (At least... I think it did take place in New York, I don't know) Vice City was more "Scare-face" and lots of other movie references thrown in together. Noticed. It's the best GTA ever on some peoples list. I just say that it's better than GTA III, or... The same level. San andreas especially, was a game that the other GTA games could not match.
I'd be happy with them releasing it free like they did with GTA 1, but a remake or sequel would also make me pretty hard.
I'm pretty sure Rockstar released GTA 2 for free too at one point. [editline]3rd July 2013[/editline] Also i'm going to choose San Andreas, i've sunk alot of time in it and the two multiplayer mods. [sp]Vice City has the best atmosphere though[/sp] Also, I think GTA V might be replacing SA on my top list. It looks amazing
Vice City for atmosphere and charm San Andreas for open endedness GTA4 for physics All the GTA games are good except maybe GTA3 is outdated now.
I liked Liberty City Stories the most... the characters were great, seeing Liberty City again was awesome, the music was awesome. I really really liked it the most.
I've probably had some of the best memories in Vice City, never really actually played San Andreas. I genuinely loved GTA IV because of the main character.
I would have to say Vice City. It had the best theme/setting, protagonist and soundtrack in my opinion. I did spend more time playing SA probably, but I hated most of the music and the whole gang thing (Grove St. wasn't doing particularly well because I ignored all the gang fight calls). I may have to replace Vice City with GTAIV (particularly TBoGT) as my favorite GTA though, the missions are fun, music is good and I like the characters in it. Also euphoria/car deformation and all that good stuff.
Vice City. Lots more to do and more varied missions, I thought, than San Andreas. SA was okay as a time sink, but just okay. The story was stupid, the ending was predictable from the beginning of the game, a lot of the side content was snoozy and, at the risk of sounding racist, I cannot bring myself to give a single shit about CJ or his ghetto beefs, so the first third of the game is just grindwork to me.

The fact that it manages to drag on for over 100 missions without becoming pretentious is enough proof. The characters and dialogue were very memorable too. And did you seriously expect [sp]Ryder, Big Smoke, and Tenpenny to all be drug lords?[/sp]
GTA IV for swing set glitch /thread
GTA: Liberty City
Okay, this could either be GTA, GTA III, Liberty City Stories, GTA IV or EFLC.
Wasn't Liberty City the name of one of the PSP ones?
San Andreas for the great music, missions, freedom to do so much shit. IV for the storyline.
