I think I still have a plastic pumpkin toy that I stole from kindergarten 15 years ago, imagine if I brought it back to them after all this time. I think it was called "Castle Bridge Elementary School".
I remember my old elementary school back when I used to live in Michigan.
Out mascot was the Monarch Butterfly, which was a native species in my area, and there was a big-ass meadow out the back of the building that was filled with Milkweed. A bunch of kinds always went out there to play and catch bugs.
It was always a competition to find the weirdest critters out there, like grasshoppers, stick bugs and toads. I remember I was kind of high-up in that regard, because I once caught a big Orb Weaver but soon after released it.
Now if only I could remember 'Nam.
There was a big toad on the playground once. That's the only interesting animal-related thing that I can think of
