Well its conscription, I doubt I will ever be given the chance to go, since the other 300 000 conscripts will also go 'Why is he so special?'
Plus, going up the chain of command will be slow as fuck, and its the weekends, and I have to respond by April 7. I have to go up to my captain, and then to my head of logistics, to my commanding officer of the camp, then commanding officer of the unit, and then jump to the minister of defence, which would be too much of a hassle.
The last time I went through this I got told off. So meh.
FYI, I'm in the army, so the other branches probably get treated better.

But as a conscript, you don't get the same entitlement as the ones who signed up as a career.
In the states, there are no such thing as a conscript, so it works very differently.

Today I attended a webcast on novel treatments for rare sarcomas. The presenter was so useless that halfway through the webcast, I was between pulling my hair out and dying of laughter at how badly she was doing her job. Nothing was "presented" that we couldn't have read in the appropriate textbook or medical journal. To make matters worse, she kept mixing her info up. The crowning moment was when we asked a question about their personal experience with the new drug format. She replied with a canned response highlighting the pharmacology of the drug instead of talking about her personal experience. At that point, the organizers gave up in despair and shut it down from our side, and let the trainwreck presumably continue on. I was able to salvage a little in the way of information, but it honestly wasn't worth it.
