Speaking of guns in Half-Life, I have a hard time playing through the games nowadays without being mildly peeved by things like the fact that you can somehow shoot grenades out of the MP7 or the SPAS-12 can shoot both of its barrels at once even though the lower "barrel" is actually just the tube magazine.
When I pointed this out at some now-defunct Half-Life wiki, people just reverted my changes and told me "durk er durk the game has unrealistic things like laser guns therefore it shouldn't need to be realistic"

Oh well, I'll get it back tomorrow. Hopefully Easter will be nice and slow and there won't be much expected of me.
Doom 3's pistol sounds were also pretty shite, but meh, all the other guns that weren't the chain-gun or the plasma rifle were kinda lame too, especially compared to their predecessors.

The Hunting Revolver in Fallout: New Vegas is probably the coolest sounding gun I can think of.
I learned recently that the virtual tabletop program my group used to use for D&D is quite flawed, and you can apparently inject code via chat to get a specific result on a dice roll. 20s all day erry day.

I made a VPK with some sounds off the GMod Workshop and Models from our very own Code_GS + an FX addon for GMod, I'd probably have to ask the guys to upload it but throwing that out there if anyone is curious about it.
