If Gladitorial Combat made a comeback and because like a popular public event, what weapons would you guys train yourselves in? I'd try to become proficient enough in all weapons to know how to defend against them but i think i'd probably go for an axe or, weirdly specifically, a claymore with an extended hilt.

Probably a curved dagger, like a karambit, and shield. Easy quick swings and stabs, with protection and disarming capabilities.

Aye, i'd probably add a buckler to my kit as well, i forgot to mention. Being able to both defend and quickly smack a weapon away, carry a dagger or two hand your weapon all at the same time would be a pretty huge benefit.

Half downloaded GTA 5 for 2 hours last night. Annoyingly the download went to 100kbps as soon as it hit about 8pm. So i only got to download at 3.7mbps for 2 hours.

I actually own and train with a claymore for medieval and Renaissance reenactments.
They're great swords but also heavy as fuck.

Oh trust me i know. I guess i should elaborate, i've always had this idea in my mind of a bastard sword or claymore (or lightsaber) with an extended handle by probably at least six inches or more. That way, you could use various points on your body to pivot the sword around, helping the weight issue and letting you swing a lot faster. There's certainly issues with that, i'm sure, but it'd look baller as fuck.
