An hour ago, I just got two emails from ESO (I haven't touched that game since beta), one informing me about a promotion related to their "welcome back week," and another being a [i]receipt[/i] for their welcome back week promotion claiming I redeemed a code.
30 minutes later I get four strange text messages from "shopkick" at the same time.
I reapplied two step authentication to both my emails and changed passwords for a few sites. I haven't even heard of shopkick and I certainly haven't touched ESO in awhile. The link that was in the ESO email was apparently not verified, so either I have had that game account compromised (which I could care less about, unique password and it sucked anyway), someone was trying to use a phishing email on me (also did not work, deleted the email), or someone has quite a bit of access to some important data that I do not know about yet.
Should I be afraid?

Shopkick is a rewards app where you check in to retail stores on your phone and/or scan items in the store to earn rewards that can be transferred to gift cards for various retailers. My wife uses it. I don't think it uses any personal/credit card info, but you should still re-secure your email, which it looks like you already did.

I deleted the text messages so quickly (panic mode) that I can't even verify if they were real or not, they just had some sketchy link in the message body.
I should be all right now, I will be sure to do some additional checks a little later on.

I'm modding my PS4 controller! I ordered these thumbsticks a few weeks ago and got them yesterday, so I installed them to try them out. They're metal Xbox One joysticks, so they're more durable and have a bit more torque to them so they're more sensitive which is cool. Gonna paint the front plate as well!
