Hell, really even if you do watch stuff like that I imagine you're smart enough to not let it consume you. Anime is just another medium and there's tons of things to watch and as long as you just remember it's essentially television and nothin more, you should be fine

Anime is just another form of TV, nothing more to see in that aspect. Just make sure to not let it consume you as does any form of entertainment. Personally I just prefer the stuff like Fullmetal Alchemist.
