tbh I don't see any problem in requiring government service that puts your life in possible danger for the right to vote. If you aren't willing to die to protect your right to vote, do you really deserve them? The book also was reasonable about it because there was a job for everyone, even seriously disabled people. Serving two years by choice for the right to vote would probably improve political efficacy heavily. Also unlike conscription it actually ensures people aren't doing it by force, but instead because they care.

I know the movie is a lot different (that's all my experience with Starship Troopers, loved it though), but didn't they execute people for some pretty petty things? Also the whole 'keep throwing soldiers at the aliens until they stop throwing meteors at us or something' just seems like a bad battle plan.
I'm really broke, I got a really tight budget, but I couldn't help myself when I saw the sale on GTA V.
I'm stupid, can't control myself.
why Gaben?

Sometimes you just gotta enjoy yourself.
I ran over a cat today while going from the bank to work. I almost couldn't work. After work I went to see if it had a collar. It did not but it was clearly someones cat. Fur was way too kept to be wild. I'm sorry whoever owned that cat. I tried to dodge it. I'm sorry.
It's always good to have money, but it doesn't make me happy in absolutely any way.

Yet this forces people who have pacifist beliefs to go against them just to make their voice heard.
All this would accomplish is allow the pro-war, aggressor policies and ideals to win over the non-violent ones much more often than they already do.

Book was very difference. Some of the punishments were a bit excessive in it, but the only person executed in the whole book was [sp]a deserter who kidnapped and murdered a young girl.[/sp] In the novel the battles weren't just throw people at bugs until they die, but was a lot more well planned especially since the mobile infantry was a highly trained force in the novel. In one point they mentioned the percentage of soldier to civilian was one of the lowest in history.

The novel did not require everyone to become a soldier though, they just had to serve the government.
The very first job interview I ever went to I wore a Beavis and Butt-Head shirt

How'd it go?

Let's just say he can now afford TP
How'd it go?
It was a mock interview for school and I didn't know I was supposed to wear semiformal, I left that part out because it would be funnier if everyone thought it was a real one.
haha in one of my first interviews, i told the guy that i lived with my grandparents. he asked what they do, and i said "theyre retarded" and i meant to say "retired". i then proceeded to laugh at it uncontrollably for a bit and then when i looked back at him, he was completely stone face.
got the job though.

how the fuck
Once I implied that I don't like children in a job interview. In a elementary school.
Never had an interview, but have landed two jobs.

Unless mock interviews count. I apparently do well in those according to the interviewers.
My only interview so far has been for my job at the ballpark where I took tickets
The interview was structured so that you were put in a big open area with a bunch of other people and told to get to meet your fellows. Based on how friendly you were, they decided if you went on. The next round was a big group interview where you interviewed your partner and how you did there (in getting to know the partner and remember facts in the 1m time) decided more as well.
I got the job, somehow. And then spent my summer saying "Enjoy the game" :v
I never really learned how to cross streets and avenues here, in fact, I never learned how to travel through the city where I live in general.
Pedestrian bridges are awfully misplaced or they are just not there at all. Whenever I attempt to cross from a corner to other I get really anxious because I'm scared I'm gonna get caught up by a car mid cross and they're gonna either insult me or just straight up run me over. I do wait till the light is red and check both sides, a lot of people don't give a fuck and drive faster when it's your time to cross. People also get mad very easily, insulting you from cars is not enough, they also near miss you in purpose.
My aunt always tells me "Pedestrian has the right of the road, they gotta wait if people are gonna cross", but I don't think that she understands that people around here are willing to go THAT far just to arrive a few minutes earlier.
If you run, people make fun of you or insult you, if you walk, then people get mad because you're walking. It's like everyone drove mad all time.
Taking the bus is hard. Sometimes it's not totally full and it still doesn't stop when you make the signal for it to stop or maybe it stops too far away from you and then it turns into a mind game between the driver and you. If you run to it, it could accelerate and tell you to go back to the bus stop. If you don't run and it, then it could accelerate and refuse to pick you up at the bus stop.

I don't like being a pedestrian pretty much for those reasons, people are way too damn impatient sometimes and I've gotten in so many close calls that weren't my fault that it's hard to keep track now.

Pedestrians legally have the right of way, but cars physically have the right of way
Is the confession of something illegal a ban-able offense?
One of my friends who isn't that into FP wants to post something.
when i was 12 i say the n word on the internet with the excuse "it's not racist if i end it with a not a hard R"

I can see the real life scenario of that . . .

I'm 24 and only drove a car twice. Both times it was illegal and it was probably the scariest thing I've ever done.

Not the most uncommon thing in the world. Rush hour traffic terrifies me. I'm not good at navigating through it either.

people have already confessed a lot of illegal things here like that one guy who is a crime lord in malayasia or singapore or one of those other nations afraid of porn.
both times it was in an empty parking lot.
i dont think that's illegal lmao
I did something I'm very proud of.
I swallowed [sp]not that kind, you filth dirty minded people[/sp] my pride and decided to talk to my ex who hated my guts... At least, that is what I made myself believe. What she really was mad about, was that I started evading eye contact with her and didnt say hi whenever I saw her in school. We were circling around eachother thinking the other was mad because of whatever reason.
I stepped up to her while she was talking to some random guy and walked with her towards the tram. I ended up joining her all the way to her doorstep, where we talked for almost a full hour in the cold. Nothing serious, just laughing and having a fun conversation about the most random of things. It was sort of like our fight never happened.
When I got back home we did seriously talk about what happened through whatsapp and I wish I could've swallowed my pride earlier. It's painful and annoying to be human sometimes. A humans pride is the biggest obstacle we will all have to face at some time, i guess
