I'm 19 and don't have a license, only my permit. I get overly anxious when I'm driving, and just can't will myself to do it. So don't feel so bad.
I only got my G2 (one above learner's permit but still not full license) this year, at 19, and I almost crashed driving to the center, had my confidence shaken when I was taking it, and even though I got it, I can't drive without constantly thinking "I have a license to drive a weapon. At any moment, I could move my hands 15 cm to the left and kill myself and a half dozen other people" so I just avoid driving as much as I can.
he's making the point that definitions change
it was more pointing out that in the 1800's "pudding" was almost synonymous with "dessert" or "snack", getting all whiny about pizza's status as a pie when pudding literally could mean "sausage" or "pastry" a few hundred years back is shortselling the versatility of english. but yes definitions change too. that's why pudding pretty much this now: [t]http://i.imgur.com/bWNxDE0.jpg[/t] [editline]6th December 2015[/editline] pizza very closely resembles a pie so calling it that shouldn't be grounds for an english lesson.

Got 77% on a networking exam I am totally okay with this as all it does is replace the 40% I had on another test. Might get a B this semester because of this.
I didn't bother to get my driver's license until my 23rd birthday. That's what I did for my 23rd birthday, was drive an irate old lady around while she squawked test instructions at me.

He was teaching me to drive stick. I think I was p good at it for a first time and I'm p confident I could do it. I just cant bring myself to actually take courses for it. Mostly because untreated ADD. Driving was horrifying and after getting my temporary licence (meant for practicing driving in traffic for at least six months to a max of two years) I never touched a car again until the licence expired. I feel a bit bad about wasting my dead grandmother's money but then again I was pressured into taking the course which I actually didn't want anyway so eh

I waited until i was 22 to do my test and now im 24, i have a house with quite a shitty car. If i learned and passed my test when i was 18, my insurance would be cheaper by now, and whilst i was younger and didn't have many bills i could probably have afforded a lot better car by now.
Yeah, I was like to 18 or 19 when I started and now I'm 23. I'd have to gain probably a few thousand from somewhere to redo the written exam, driving exam and extra lessons I need to actually know how not to die again. I certainly will never willingly work a job that requires driving and owning a car is personal nightmare.
Driving is only scary when you're learning and with someone, when you're on your own, it is fine and easy.
Driving is only scary when you're learning and with someone, when you're on your own, it is fine and easy.
because you don't know what you're doing wrong and no one, that you care about, can judge you
because you don't know what you're doing wrong and no one, that you care about, can judge you
Kind of, its just the pressure that you have control of something that could endanger yours and someone elses life.
Kind of, its just the pressure that you have control of something that could endanger yours and someone elses life.
That was my biggest fear when I started driving. The idea that I'm in a giant metal thing moving way faster than I could ever naturally AND it's powered by explosions. Then you throw in the fact that a shitton of other people are doing that about two feet to your left (or right) and at any moment someone could twitch and kill you or you could kill your whole family. Its terrifying. Eventually you get over it.
I actually prefer a sloppy cheeseburger over pizza.
I actually prefer a sloppy cheeseburger over pizza.
Sounds like a euphemism But i like both. I'd have a sloppy cheeseburger pizza if i could.
I'm thoroughly convinced that there are little men in my head eating my brain
I don't get why everyone is afraid of driving. I started at 15 and got my full license at 17. Unless you can walk everywhere in your city/town I don't get why you would want one. [editline]7th December 2015[/editline] Most people I know got their full license at 16

Here we're not allowed to start taking driving lessons until your 17th, you get a license that allows you to drive with only 5 pre-defined people (you can choose yours parents / grandparents, basically anyone you know who's had their license for more than 5 years and never had a serious traffic offense) until you're 18. From 18 you're free as any driver. Had my license for 2 and a half years now, drove about 12.5k miles (20k kilometers) in this time, drive stick (unless 99% of America) and I still have time and focus to talk to other people in the car. Not telling others you are being shit or whatever, I just honestly don't understand what's so scary about it.
Only "scary" thing about driving was learning the stick shift, but after you tried it even once you realize how easy it is and start wondering why are some people even scared about it.

[editline]7th December 2015[/editline] Most people I know got their full license at 16
In our country we can't start learning until 17. And even then, parking is near impossible and expensive here so its sometimes cheaper just to get the bus to the next town over. Not to mention you can't really afford a car and insurance and tax etc... at that age unless you have mummy and daddy buy it for you.

I actually like cheap microwave pizzas, as long as I cook them in the oven.

What, how, questions questions... How do you stall a car at high speed, ever? Shifted car I assume? Shift back gears if RPM is below 2000 when slowing down, depends on what type of car though. Also depending on what speed you wnat to leave the highway, I leave the highway in 3rd gear at a speed of roughly 60 kph. Don't try to go in 5th or 6th gear.
