are you kidding
its a story about [sp]a kid literally in a hole in a ground with no ambitions and nothing to live for who finds the courage to break out of his shell and strive for something better
gurren lagaan "won't cheer you up?"
its a show that forces people to realize their full potential and not live quietly and unnoticed
its the idea that sheer willpower and determination will get you through all odds
as long as you never give up nothing can stop you from realizing your dreams
do the fucking impossible
i don't see how so many people disagreed with this as a rec for that one guy who said he was depressed[/sp]
that was me, but i get why
[sp]it's mega dramatic, in that the scope of the series concerns the survival of humanity and the planet, and then eventually, the universe. that kind of tension can be a negative stressor[/sp]
the recommendations most people gave were mostly lighthearted shows with little continuity so you don't have to worry about the future of the human race
I can't get over the G Reco ED, it's so good.

I never skip it

that they do

You know, I've started listening to soundtracks of anime that I've watched just to remember some of the stuff and what-not but holy crap some of these songs remind of the sad shit that's happened and it's like holy fuck dude I'm never watching that anime again
Seriously, hearing this song after some of the most depressing fucking shit I've seen in a LONG time

is like "damn son imma cry"
[sp]especially that part where they all say goodbye to her, and the whole conflict between the MC and that redhead girl (can't remember her name), and just the whole theme of 'getting back together and realizing why we split apart in the first place and trying to solve our personal problems that were mostly a result of menma kicking the bucket[/sp]
And here I go watching Madoka Magicka and I hear it's got [sp]a massively depressing ending[/sp]
that they do
and it's just going to get bigger and bigger

Is the anohana movie worth a watch?
And here I go watching Madoka Magicka and I hear it's got [sp]a massively depressing ending[/sp]
I watched Madoka up to the point where [sp]we found out that they actually live inside of those egg things. After the whole brief dying thing on the bridge, I just stopped watching.[/sp]
Is the anohana movie worth a watch?
It shows a little bit of the characters lives after the ending of the series, I watched it just to see that.
care to elaborate?
It's embarrassing to watch if you're a guy.
I didn't even know G-Reco was a gundam show
I didn't even know G-Reco was a gundam show
it honestly would not surprise me if it originally wasn't
it honestly would not surprise me if it originally wasn't
well when it was announced Tomino did state it wasn't gonna have the Gundam name
http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2012-08-25/gundam-creator-tomino-g-reko-entering-full-fledged-production
Tomino did the smart thing: slap the Gundam name on it to get it made. You could swap out the UC references for any generic past. It's about as connected to the UC as Overman King Gainer is in all practical sense because the UC that led into the RC is so many thousands of years after the UC shows that it might as well not be.
I would much rather Gundam be a series of completely unique shows with a Gundam head slapped on so Bandai can sell it and make model kits. Because I'm a UC fanboy, I don't have any attachment to it as a franchise beyond that.
[editline]18th February 2015[/editline]
The problem then I suppose becomes if you get an 00 situation where they made a unique show taking concepts from Wing, and then fans went NOT MUH GUNDAM and season 2 was forced into incorporating the various Gundam tropes and ditching a lot of what made it unique. Which resulted in TOO MUCH LIKE MUH GUNDAM reactions. So great going there guys.
Getting a new tablet tomorrow. Can't wait to read manga in HIGH-DEFINITION.
Would have got it today if this damn ice storm didn't come by.
i got around to finishing the koimonogatari book and arc
it was reel gud
r8 me early
snip
though allow me to add
koi spoilers
[sp]
the book seemed to emphasize Oshino's disappearance more than the anime
i smell an ougi story in the making

Get yourself lost in scanlation hell as you follow 40 ongoing series each with a different release schedule that somehow all happens on the same day at least twice a year

Apparently I'm following 118 series on batoto.
Evagelion owns
Read up to chapter 30 of Boku no Hero Academia last night and it's really amazing.
And one of the main characters is almost overkill levels of badass
I read 2 chapters of it way back and I hated the protagonist and his backstory.
Does it get any better on that department?
The superhero girls are cute and some of the side characters have cool designs so I might just tough it out
Has anyone watched Eve No Jikan? Is it just Animatrix in Japan or something comparable to Chobits?
Also, anyone have an idea on where I can read Chobits?

Watched the movie, nothing groundbreaking, standard robots gaining sentience plot but a very good watch imo.
[editline]18th February 2015[/editline]
Idk if it's just the movie but the first person segments are really weirdly animated or something, it goes at like 5fps with full motion blur. Got used to it after a while though.

one of my favourite scifi animes, really really enjoyable.
i don't see how so many people disagreed with this as a rec for that one guy who said he was depressed
I'd say was depressed because a damn good show came to an end.

nice seeing the return of Slender, Denim and Gene
I've been watching Hajime no Ippo recently, which you all probably know have heard of. If not it's a boxing manga/anime that has been going on for ages.
It's really good, light hearted fun so far!
