My mind was a little blown when I saw that Wit Studio were behind SnK and not moe shows.
Where did Rolling Girls even come from?
In related news, anime fans with sticks up their butts still have not realized that giving a 10 to an anime does not necessarily mean that it has to be perfect and that not using the rating basically makes a 9 the equivalent of a 10.
On one hand, many sorely need it, on the other hand it's OYW 2: the milkening: milk harder
Between this and the likely separate Origin line it's gonna be like a full year of nothing but the OYW greatest hits collection instead of non-00 AUs and Late UC. Oh well, those were never going to happen anyway.
Hey guys! I'm looking for a certain type of anime and thought maybe you can help me out :)
I really enjoy manga/anime that are set in a mysterious world that is - at least at the beginning of the story - unknown to the reader, with many questions coming up about how things work or why stuff happens. The examples I can give are Claymore ([sp] at first you think it's just random monster slaying but then then there is this mysterious organization and it turns out there is an outside world in war etc. [/sp]) and Attack on Titan ([sp] titans seem to be random monsters but there is a mysterious truth behind them [/sp]).
I'm not sure if these are good examples but these two stories came to my mind first when writing this post :)
My question is: Can you recommend me similar stories?
PS: Not sure if spoiler tags are necessary but I added them just in case :)
PPS: I'd also like to now if there is a certain genre I may search for - maybe these kind of stories have their own genre?

honestly, why should they focus on merchandise on a gundam series from the 90s instead of what is actually relevant and airing now and soon?

Log Horizon
Mushishi (sort of)
Kino no Tabi
and I'll heavily second Shinsekai Yori.
It's literally what you describe.

Since the usual examples are taken, Casshern Sins, The Big O, and to a certain extent Noein. Primarily the parts in the future.
[editline]24th February 2015[/editline]
Don't watch Casshern Sins unless you like your day being ruined though. That shit is bleak.
To all of you who suggested stories: THANKS!
Will check them out one by one :)
Have a nice day everyone.

yes the genre of "any anime not set in highschool"
alternatively "adventure" would probably be a good starting point
Went to minotaur (shitty nerd store in the city) because I had to kill an hour innacity today.
Found a renge nendo, was super psyched because they're sold out on amiami
Checked the price tag
99 dollars
I literally just walked out.
