The anime club at my uni is hosting a maid/butler cafe next Friday. They also get discount tickets to the local convention and do some giveaways at events.
They're also one of the like 3 clubs that basically make up the League of Legends and Smash Bros clubs, they basically sit in the basement of the student centre and play either of those. They had 1 TV the school provided they used for Smash and they brought in 2 more and 3 Gamecubes.
oh yeah speaking of melbourne being turbo weebs
theres a bar here called asian beer cafe and it has anime shit in quite a few places (inc the urinal lol)

Full Metal Alchemist is old school now? It's not even fifteen years old if you go from the manga's starting point.
Shit's gonna be weird when early 2000s anime is considered old.

think i already told this story here but we had a maid cafe here in melbourne and i use that term very loosely because it was more of a merch/cosplay wig shop that did the cafe thing on some days
if i havent already said it, they used to sell shit like fucking party pies and bacon and eggs and whatever you can find in the frozen section at the supermarket for $10-$15
but what i recently heard from a friend was that the maids there werent even being paid and were volunteers
why even bother, that place went under recently too

that sounds fucking terrible
maid cafes are a retarded idea anyway
cat cafes are where it's at man
I think I'd rather gouge my eyes out than undergo some visually unimpressive white girls doing their best to make my skin crawl with their bastardization of an already shitty scene. Anime and anime accessories is a sin, it is an affront to god almighty and should be done in shame why do people insist on flaunting it in public hella gross.

no fuck that too
have you been to the one near the victoria market or whatever? Well i suppose it's alright but you see the problem was i didn't know i was allergic to cats
so i'm dying here because the place has like 6-8 cats and its quite dusty but i dont wanna bail cos i paid $10 for this shit and i was with people. The food was store bought "cafe" food that was decently expensive all the other people there were like crazy cat ladies in the making
also the place was pretty much just a house converted into a "cafe" but yeah

And get fucking cat hair in your food? No thanks.
All Australian ramen i've had is shit compared to the pork fat based miracle soup in Japan.

You go to a cat cafe to enjoy cats becauseyou live in a shit apartment where you're not allowed pets.
People and food can get fucked. I'm there for cats.

it's 1am on a tuesday why are all the australians popping out of the woodwork
it's early morning in burgerland, i think europoors are still at work/school
i can wake up at 11am today so here i am
Also my Anime club at my uni is playing Shirobako, so it's not total shit taste. Full of weirdos though, glad i've steered clear. There's a Japan club at my uni which isn't total shit surprisingly. I've also got two different Japanese restaurants within 5 minutes walk from campus but they're both pretty subpar and expensive as shit. Lots of Asian supermarkets to raid for random asian shit for dirt cheap though.

if you have android Beats is pretty good.
Basically stepmania for your phone but it loads osu! tracks as well (it converts them to stepmania style maps)
There's also an android version of osu but it didn't really work well for me, felt bad and doing anything above easy is impossible because you can't click fast enough.
osu on android runs poorly on my phone and the timing is way off but its probably my phone. Cytus runs fine but i tried rhythm of fighters and that was fucked too
idk maybe ill try beats but phone gaming has been a disaster for me
Cytus is fucking sick.
Beats is really good, low resource usage and pretty responsive (although I had to disable holds because they NEVER EVER registerred correctly)
You can manually change the offsets in the menu but I didn't have to, worked out of the box perfectly. I only run into issues on super fast songs, but I can't tell if it's the phone input letting me down, or my own fingers.
eh cytus is ok but i dont really like the songs, i only liked the black case and masquerade
I never really "got" Osu, but im not sures theres anything to get in the first place.
no aura battler dunbine in mecha 0/10
the real crime is that Giant Robo is nowhere on the mecha list or even the old school list
I never really "got" Osu, but im not sures theres anything to get in the first place.
Like any rhytm based game it's about the satisfaction of beating something really fucking hard.
I never liked it personally, I'm more of a guitar hero and stepmania guy.
Osu is a big collection of rhythm games at this point.
It has elite beat agents, taiko, beatmania and catch the beat.
the real crime is that Giant Robo is nowhere on the mecha list or even the old school list
More people should watch Giant Robo. I'm talking to you nerds.
And before you go "but robots and manliness make me feel uncomfortable moe girls will never betray me", it's really not a mecha series. It's a over the top martial arts superpower series that happens to have a giant robot in it.

While I commend them for having Akatsuki no Yona, they botched the name. It's Yona of the dawn, not Yona: Dawn of the dark.
The fuck is this list anyway, half the names are blatantly wrong.

They have fucking Eureka 7 Ao there, has the person who wrote this even watched anything on their list

It's a pretty fun rhythm game though, I'm enjoying it
