The ending is the very last part of the story.
If anything nullified anything up to that point it would ruin it, good thing that doesn't happen because what happened before happened before and it can be enjoyed for what it was no matter what happens later.
A bad ending ends it with a sour taste, but by no means does it change the entire fucking experience. Fun episodes are fun, nothing that happens 10-20 episodes later can ruin the enjoyment that was had when watching that episode, that's retarded.

If a mystery show keeps you entertained because of the mystery, and then the conclusion is stupid, the whole show becomes stupid because they roped you into it thinking it's going to have a satisfying ending.

Naw he's right with mystery, because a lot of the excitement is from trying to piece it together, but when it comes together and it's stupid you just feel like you've been ripped off, because the plot relied on a lack of knowledge and once you have the knowledge it doesn't work.
But that's unrelated to having fun. If I watch a mystery show and like the characters and the dialogue rather than the intrigue, then a shit ending won't ruin it. (Dusk Maiden)

my evening has taken a rather confusing turn, because the movie im watching isnt the movie that i thought it was. Apparently 5cm per second isnt an action film. Yeah it was fucking stupid, but I don't really consider it part of the same thing as it's so short and only negatively influences the entire story.

Still a good show overall, they just didn't know what the fuck to do with it at the end. You don't feel ripped off before the ending, all the time building up to that was good, meaning it was a good show, it just fell flat on it's face at the end.
Also I think you guys are using the concept of "good show" differently from me here. I think you're referring to a "well made" show? I'm referring to the enjoyment of a show.

yea its not really a good show if you have to treat the thing that wraps the whole thing up like a fucking fever dream and just pretend it didn't happen.
I watched Dusk maiden of amnesia with a friend (animeweedlord ofc) and we both hated how it threw all of the buildup and story away at the last seconds.
I never experienced something going from a rating 8-9/10 to 5-6/10 in such a short time, before i watched d.m. amnesia.

Anyone read Mahou Shoujo of the End? It's a pretty interesting apocalypse manga
Batoto doesn't have all the chapters for some reason (just 17-19) so you'll have to use *gasp* mangafox to read most of it. Batoto seems to be adding new chapters as they come so it doesn't make sense why they don't have 1-16.
