I've come to find that filler episodes fit gag series, like Gintama, better. Series with an overarching plot tend to suffer more from having them.

I wouldn't even consider it a filler because that's what shows like Gintama are about, random scenarios that are funny. In fact I would even say that most of the serious arcs are the weak points of the show because in Shounen anime, main characters never die. Gintoki even goes so far as to point this out himself in the anime that he can't die because he's the main character so he isn't afraid of getting seriously injured.
Recently I started watching Nodame Cantabile and after 8 episodes I have a question. Do the later episodes contain any levels of drama and seriousness which cannot be described as 'remote' or 'nonexistent'? I've been having quite a lot of fun watching it, but so far it's just students and teachers doing goofy stuff.

Because I like shows to be good and I don't buy into cheap excuses. I'm not sure where these depth, social commentary, plot and character points come from when I didn't say anything about that. I'm criticizing Assroom for repeating the same fucking dialogue spewed out from Nagisa every fucking episode, several times. Nothing else.
I don't fucking know who published what, I don't give a shit. I judge a show for what it is, not where it comes from.
And just because the repetetive dialogue was in the manga doesn't mean they can't cut it from the anime either. They could probably save themselves a whole episode if they did.

Most of the stuff seems to start in 25-30 days with a few shows starting a week or two afterwards. So first week of April for most.
