It's easier to wait when you haven't watched any of it, and I'm not marathoning the whole thing so I'll probably be near the end of the series when the last episode airs.
I do a similar thing with some TV shows that I'm actively watching. I have them recording, and I jump in and start watching the show after about half an hour or so has passed so I can fast forward through the commercials and still finish around the same time that the show ends in real time.
You know, Saekano's actually pretty good. Considering it's a harem and an adaptation, that's somewhat surprising.
