Fun fact Hitoshi Iwaaki(creator of Parasyte) contributed a story for Neo Devilman
Also Parasyte is just one of those manga that you can clearly see the Devilman influence.

Lots of CGI and the character designs are a bit different than what I expected but it's better than no GATE anime at all. I hope it's good and not some 12 episode series that never goes anywhere else.

That narrows it down pretty well. To be honest that particular anime is quite popular, however the ending is fairly shit. However, the redeeming quality of it is how unique it truly is.

High School DXD is better than most in that regard.
I obviously don't really watch much romance anime or harem stuff but it grinds my gears whenever a show goes "they're in love because they're in love okay" and it fails to convince me outside of the "we're in wuv" scenes that they could pass for even enjoying each other's company. I'm looking at you, tsundere/bitch archetype.
Or just in general when either the MC or the romantic lead fail to do anything that would conceivably earn them the attraction of the other.
Out of all the faults in Cross Ange, it seemed to get the romance part right between the MC and supporting character.
Even if it is/was a bit over the top at times
