OPM is being made by Madhouse. http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2015-03-20/one-punch-man-anime-features-kaito-ishikawa-makoto-furukawa-madhouse/.86173
Sweet, now all I want to know are the voice actors (especially King, and Sonic). Edit: Didn't realize they already specified Saitama.
Shigatsu is currently ranked 17 on MAL lol.
I haven't watched the two last episodes yet, but of course, it has everything people want from anime. 1. Emotional teenagers speaking poetic bullshit that is way beyond their capabilities, making every moment into a grander than life thing. 2. A goal to reach and mental reasons for giving up on said goal and people to push you into obtaining that goal again. 3. Life lessons, constantly, especially about loosening up and accepting personal flaws and not trying to do everything according "to the rules". 4. A love interest that is out of reach for self-thought reasons and a love drama in general. Love, drama, aspirations, dreams, hinders, you know, it has it all, even [sp]life and death[/sp]. Why do you think Clannad did so well? I want to kill the cast every time they spew bullshit out of their mouths or thoughts because they're fucking 14 and speak of love and moments as if they were in the most overdone fedora-written love poem. They don't act their age one fucking bit. But I still love the show for everything else it does, and even the bullshit has it's merits if you disregard the context and how often it happens.
Didn't realize they already specified Saitama.
He's some nobody VA, so it's perfect.
I know all that, I just didn't expect it to go that high. Also finish it dgg I wanna know what you think.
I watched the first episode of Tsuritama to get used to the art style for Digimon Tri. I expected a down to earth slice of life about fishing. I'm not quite sure what I got but it certainly wasn't that.
That air violin scene really annoyed me. Just picture that shit in real life. You wouldn't do that shit, ever, you just look dumb. No, he can't fucking hear the sounds of the imaginary air violin when he's not even looking at her and has no idea what she's doing. That kinda shit just throws me off. Shigatsu has no right to be as good as it is.
That air violin scene really annoyed me. Just picture that shit in real life. You wouldn't do that shit, ever, you just look dumb.
That just sounds like a fancier version of air guitar.
That just sounds like a fancier version of air guitar.
Which is something you wouldn't do in an emotional setting. You wouldn't convince your guitar buddy that lost hope by playing air guitar. It's something you do on your own or with friends when you're all having fun.
Jesus, Shinichi's [sp]Humans are the REAL monsters! revelation[/sp] toward the end of episode 23 of Parasyte was so fucking stupid holy shit. Maybe if they didn't make [sp]Gotou go full-movie monster mode it would've held more weight, but this fucking BIGASS MURDER-MACHINE is chasing you and everyone you know, and you're going to throw away your one chance to make everyone safe despite having clear "I WANNA SURVIVE" motives through the entire fucking show?[/sp] Like, I'm glad that he actually ended up doing the thing, but that social commentary was so fucking forced and out of character. I was also disappointed that [sp]He didn't set the trash heap on fire to burn Gotou. I was hoping that the whole "use a flamethrower" thing was foreshadowing, considering how they made a point of saying the trash was very flammable and how he had the lighter Migi gave him earlier.[/sp] The [sp]fight[/sp] itself was neat, but dear lord they nearly ruined everything with that shitty exposition.

Wait, I should have buried it under a tree so the tree could grow."[/sp])
Last episode of Shigatsu: [sp]You lose me on 1/3 of the episode because you just play music over flashback images, and then you don't even show us her passing away? You only show it metaphorically as a spirit fading away whilst he's playing? Here you have the possibility to show one of the strongest emotional scenes possible, seeing someone you've learned to care about pass away, and what do you do? You just entirely fucking skip it and just show us the time after where it's still fresh enough to affect everyone and you read her letter to us? Yes, I was tear-eyed through all that and yes it was good, but fucking skipping the actual death? What a dumb and cowardly move, I've been "looking forward" to that scene for over half the show and you just treat it like it's unimportant[/sp] Well, so Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso was, as I've said before, a Chihayafuru. In other words, a show that does so much clichè and obnoxious shit you drown in it, it has so many terribly generic scenes and does very little original, you've seen the scenes a million times before, you've heard the dialogue, the cherry blossom leaves and the birdes and the whatnot flying across the screen and up into heaven and whatnot. There is not an ounce of fresh air, it's what everybody else does, and I guess you can let the director get away with it to some extent because it's his first time being the director of a whole show. But yet, despite that it all works, you love it, you react to it, you like it. Your brain says "NO FUCK THAT" and your heart says "YES I LOVE IT, GIVE ME MORE". Which is why I call it a "Chihayafuru", since that show did exactly those things, give you every generic thing ever but execute it in just such a way that you end up liking it despite all it's flaws, or rather, you also like the flaws. It's a story with ridiculous characters that act and speak in a way no 14 year old ever would in any circumstances, they are so completely out of it that there isn't even the slightest doubt in your mind that this is some premium bullshit fantasy stuff going on that only exists for the message and the age-relatability for it's core audience. Realism is fucked up the ass, characterwise, which will be a personal matter on whether or not that is a positive or negative thing, it is fiction to begin with after all, and I'd say the message is more important than being real. Personally though I'd still consider it a negative, they were just way too out there. Love is handled like any other show, the characters that are subject to it are all denser than osmium in order to keep the agony, pain and suffering of being in love going as long as the show lasts, in order to cast light on peoples personal love doubts through the show and have people realize it's probably not as bad as they think. The side effect of that obviously being that the characters are fucking obnoxious as they keep going in repeat on their love for a person and how unobtainable it is and what a loser they are, and you know the drill. Same old same old, boring shit that still rings too true in our ears and is still too fucking relatable despite being so dumb that you can't help but care. The music in this show is a shit, the actually played music in the show, not the OST (which has some great songs), when your character plays a song on a piano for several episodes and it sounds like it's being played falsely, sounding completely horrid as if someone is hitting the wrong keys and tangents at all times and it's actually supposed to sound that way?! And the audience emotionally react to it and think it's beautiful?!?!?! Fuck off. It's even worse how they are literally just playing the same song without any change, and when he's training and you hear the song they make comments about how badly he's playing it (and I agreed because it sounded bad) but then it's played the exact same way when it's presented and everybody loves it, BUT IT SOUNDS AWFUL. On the one hand, I get it, you need someone that can play the piano well enough and have them actually record different versions of it and that's a lot of money and time to spend on something not meaningful enough to the end experience, but on the other hand, it's stupid, you're telling us it's different when it's not, people react differently to the same thing, you force emotions and personality into something that is played just like it's supposed to be played, it's all just in the words, not in the sound. It just feels shitty to decide to make a show about music and not giving the music any special attention. There really isn't that much positive to say about the actual contents of Shigatsu, it's all generic or bad on it's own, it's just put together in such a good way that it just gets to you, it hits the right keys when it needs to, the soundtrack fits the moods very well and the pretentious shit talk spewing out of their mouth doesn't fit them, but it fits the situation, it's the right feelings at the right time. Of course there are times when the show just loses you because it didn't jell well enough, but overall it just keeps hitting the right strings. It's pretty bad that it lost me for a good 1/3 of the final episode because it was just playing music and using flashback images for the longest time and I just didn't pay any attention to it at all until new content came [sp]with the godrays coming out of her chest as she passed away under surgery[/sp]. So, as it bears repeating, despite all that flak, I give it a slightly weak 9/10, had the ending done what I wanted it to it would have been a solid 9. I would recommend it to anyone.
I'm wondering what the OVA will be about because all of the manga has already been adapted.
these last 2 episodes of JoJo man
Sometimes, I go back and watch the finale of Gurren Lagann, just to remind myself just how great it was. I will love that show forever.
It gets a bad rep for being so over the top But IMO that's exactly why it's so goddamn perfect
these last 2 episodes of JoJo man
he's a fantastic character, it was so intense
these last 2 episodes of JoJo man
They were GOOD
Welp, (Death Parade 11) [sp]That's not what I thought the void was. No one deserves that.[/sp]
Ayy finally a release date for BDs of the Psycho Pass movie [t]http://i.imgur.com/NC5L2oX.jpg[/t]
wow, death parade's newest episode was absolutely fantastic, definitely my favorite episode so far
wow, death parade's newest episode was absolutely fantastic, definitely my favorite episode so far
The first episode was the worst, right? Maybe I could continue watching if that was the case.
How could somebody not like episode 1 ??
The first episode was the worst, right? Maybe I could continue watching if that was the case.
i wouldn't say so, it's pretty play-by-numbers for a death parade episode and is more or less a repeat of the OVA, but it's still a very solid episode interested to hear why you didn't like it
also haha, was that a Death Note reference in today's episode?
Shirobako 23 [sp]Ai is still best girl, and Shizuka finally got a voice roll in the anime so technically their dream of working on an anime together finally came true oh and that whole cowboy scene was great[/sp]
How could somebody not like episode 1 ??
the setting is cool and all but the two non permanent characters were so incredibly generic. In a show with many temporary characters that just doesn't work.
the setting is cool and all but the two non permanent characters were so incredibly generic. In a show with many temporary characters that just doesn't work.
the first 2 characters were generic so the viewer would focus more on the setting and ideas plus they're not going to push out their most interesting characters in the first episode or the rest would just be flacid, it needs to be a gradual build-up
Shirobako ep23 [sp]I remember on /a/ some people jokingly said the creator would want the pig thing to talk, which would go to redhead, but I never thought she'd get the role of the little sister, that was heartwarming.[/sp] [sp]oh and the ed still thing changed[/sp] http://i.imgur.com/NpDT7cZ.jpg
[t]http://i.imgur.com/mTRMARd.jpg[/t] at this point I can't even be mad anymore, perhaps all this time daisuki's subbers have only been getting audio feeds, which would also explain their latent inability to translate russian past the first episode
