Finished watching The Pacific, definitively a more solid depiction of the grittiness of war compared to BoB, but I think BoB wins in all other aspects like starting out better and being able to grow attached to all the characters and whatnot.

The next HBO series is going to be called "Masters of the Air" which is obviously going to be based off the book about the 8th AAF Bombers. It's produced by Spielberg and Tom Hanks, so you know it will be good.
It's going to shine a new light on a section of WWII that usually gets glossed over in TV and movies.

That show had me laughing pretty consistently throughout so I don't think you're wasting your time.
Then again that's just my opinion, some people hated it.

I love SYD but the jokes are mostly just unfunny sex jokes which for some reason I find funny.

If you're talking about the comic, you can pretty much skip everything between the first 20 and the last 20 chapters and the end will still make sense.
iirc it is because the author was afraid that his comic will get axed like his last one without a proper end, so he decided to come up with a end first before proceeding. I remember one of the special chapter was specifically created to show that he came up with this ending first, in case some other comic have the same ending as Zetsubou Sensei.

Yeah so that SZS manga ending was fucking insane and i loved it, has the mangaka worked on anything else noteworthy? I also started SYD today and i'm rather enjoying it.
