Context: Gundam apparently shows primarily sell through the BD box after the series ends. As a result pretty much all other volume sales are not indicative of the show's success at the moment. And since it's Gundam, the BD sales are irrelevant because success is judged through the gunpla sales and that's selling quite well.
Plus Cross Ange has that "fifty popular VAs to guarantee success regardless of the show's quality" thing going on.
