Ep 3 of assassination classroom has been cancelled "While no explanation given, many fans are assuming it is because of the current hostage situation by the Islamic State group. Three days ago, the militant group posted a video online to give the Japanese government a 72-hour deadline to pay a $200 million ransom for two Japanese hostages. In the video, a masked member of the group was holding a knife and intimidating the hostages and viewers with it. As the manga/anime images below show, a knife is an iconic item in the Assassination Classroom franchise. Whatever truth is, this mood of self-restraint may continue for a while in Japan. UPDATE: According to Yomiuri Shimbun, Fuji TV's Public Relation Section confirms the reason of the cancellation is a scene that a character is swinging a knife to kill a monster in the episode." Yep, totally going to overlook the symbolism behind delaying an episode out of respect for your countrymen nope nah that doesn't happen its just those fuckers trying to ruin my anime. Chill dude.

This isn't "oh no my animu got delayed", it's just ridiculous.

Delayed? I read Cancelled.

This isn't "oh no my animu got delayed", it's just ridiculous.
I agree it's a bit odd, but being upset to a point beyond grumbling is childish. This is how they chose to show respect, if it's that big a deal maybe you need to reevaluate some shit.
Delayed? I read Cancelled.
I assume delayed anyway. "cancelled broadcast" I assume would be the correct way to phrase it.
Delayed? I read Cancelled.
Cancelling a whole episode let alone one that reveals a major character in the show is absurd
I agree it's a bit odd, but being upset to a point beyond grumbling is childish. This is how they chose to show respect, if it's that big a deal maybe you need to reevaluate some shit.
It's not a big deal at all. I find the reasoning for it absolutely ridiculous and all my mind can think in relation to it is "that's stupid. that's really, really stupid" and excuse me if that comes off to you as "I AM OFFENDED AND INDIGNANT" Of all the ways to "show respect" this is the most baffling one I've heard. Let's use a comparison. Psycho-Pass has a plot with a murder in it. A murder just happened, network thinks people will be very sensitive about that sort of subject matter, episode delayed. I would call it an overreaction but understandable. Rooted in logic that wasn't devised by somebody on Tumblr. This is so ridiculously knee-jerk and stretching so far that it reaches parodic levels. The fact that it's supposed to "show respect" just makes it even dumber. also i can't watch most animu this week anyway so i have no investment in this particular episode anyway
isis fucked with the wrong people assemble the weeaboos
I can't believe that I have to justify myself on this to you nerds.
I can't believe that I have to justify myself on this to you nerds.
no, you really don't, nobody is forcing you to..?
no, you really don't, nobody is forcing you to..?
it's you with your hurtful ratings that caused this Also my first reaction whenever anybody tells me to calm down is to get angry, particularly when I was completely calm and had little to no investment on the matter, and particularly when I don't give a shit about the subject that I am being accused of caring a lot about.

Calm down. Everything is gonna be daijobu.
i rated you dumb because it seemed to me like you were whining about someone paying their respects to a very unfortunate event because you couldn't get an episode of anime
Yeah well you see here's the issue, the only thing of any relevance to any real world events in assassination classroom is a knife. A rubber knife. Being swung at a tentacle monster. It'd be understandable if it was a show which is showing terrorists, or an ISIS style video hostage ransom or even an execution via knife - what it is actually showing is a kid trying to stab a tentacle monster with a rubber knife. This isn't the first time Fuji TV has displayed a ridiculously over-sensitive reaction to current events, though. Nothing that can really be done about it.
I youtubed "assemble the weeaboos" in hopes of something great. There was nothing :(
maybe i'm a lot less passionate about anime than you guys but my reaction was basically "oh ok" like just wait a week or something it's not that big of a deal
I'm not all that bothered by it either (more time to watch RahXephon lol!), but that isn't gonna stop me from voicing my opinion on why it's a stupid, overly-sensitive reaction to something that has basically nothing to do with the show.
maybe i'm a lot less passionate about anime than you guys but my reaction was basically "oh ok" like just wait a week or something it's not that big of a deal
It's not even about the anime being delayed, it's the fact that they considered this a reasonable reaction in the first place.
I was upset because I thought it was "cancelled" since it said...well cancelled. But I guess it's just delayed. So whatever, I'll wait.
ok then i was just misunderstanding you guys i'm glad we've resolved this issue now thanks
friendship for everyone This could have all been avoided if anime didn't air at ridiculous hours and we actually had something to talk about [editline]24th January 2015[/editline] Speaking of which Death Parade should have released by now. And it hasn't. Oh well.
alternatively you could just not talk about anime until there's anime to talk about i mean it's not like this thread is actually about anime or anything
What about that weather? I mean hot, cold, hot, cold. It's like the Northern Hemisphere can't make up it's mind.
