Not sure what state you are in, but it shouldn't be too strenuous to get a GED. I got mine within a week before applying for college. Just have to brush up on those stronk maff skillz, and by that I mean looking at like a formula and equation sheet from middle school for a bit, maybe going on youtube and watching a guy do math in areas you know you suck at.
Besides, unless you are into your mid-20's having a late start isn't a big deal.
