so I just finished watching evangelion (haven't touched the movies yet, just the original series) well... that happened... I'm honestly annoyed at myself for putting off watching it for about 2 or so years considering how great it is, I know that it's a classic and all that, but I didn't expect to like is as much as I did considering all my expectations. The weird tones shift and complete abandonment of the plot in the last 2 eps did annoy me, but considering they didn't have enough money left to do anything big I'm not surprised. Mostly based on the logic of "i like thing, therefore more of thing is better if it doesn't drop in quality". However, I'm fine with short runs sometimes. I'm actually glad that Death Parade is only one cours because I wouldn't want them to start to run dry on what they could do with the premise.

Are there any good animes where the MC isn't a mindless retard or emotionally crippled to the point he is a potato, and people act somewhat like people? Guess I am just looking for a show where the MC falls somewhere along the lines of shinji from parasyte or Seiya from ABP. Or where I don't have to question if the characters walked out of a mental hospital and this is there first time interacting with other people.
