Anybody been touching aldnoah 2 recently? Opinions?
Did you watch PP2? It's kinda like that. In terms oh S1 to S2 levels of logic and plot progression.
Short video contains spoilers about S2 E1 but really sums up how dumb it got.
I watched Spice and Wolf season one, but I have absolutely no motivation to continue. It was okay, but I don't think it really grabbed me in any way.
Got to like episode 7 or something, just didn't care enough about anyone in the story enough to continue. It's fine as it is, just very very average.
I got about 4 episodes into Spice and Wolf S2 and then got kinda bored of it. Meanwhile I have a friend who rewatches it like 5 times a year.
i binge watched both seasons of spice and wolf in a few days and bought some of the books soon after
back when spicy wolf came out i thought it sounded boring as fuck but after watching log horizon maybe i should give it a shot.

Kancolle has a story? I thought it was just a money sink for pathetic dweebs.
Kinda, due to something that happened in the third episode im cautiously optimistic that it wont be more otaku pandering. It passed the three episode rule anyway.
guilty gear xrd's story mode was the best non-anime anime i've ever seen
it also had norio wakamoto

the entirety of kancolle is otaku pandering. it is literally pathetic sub-human bait, theres no getting around that. What could have possibly happened in ep. 3 to make you think it won't pander to the worst of society?

thought-provoking themes such as the individual's ironic isolation from others in an age that grows increasingly more connected, the futility of righteousness in the face of an uncaring, emotionally numb society and clever satirization of american imperialism
i never played the game but I remember the anime being pretty lack luster. Granted I cried like a bitch when [sp]the sister or whatever died. That hit me hard for some reason.[/sp]
that was pretty abrupt in the game. In the game, [sp]Isara just gets sniped after one of the levels but you think she's just wounded because there's no blood in the game. Her death pretty much just happens to develop Rosie's character too.[/sp]

The solo bits are a bit weak, mostly the Bloody Stream singer's parts. His voice type doesn't have the strength to fit the instrumentals and style of the song.
look at all that not-saika
like seriously he hasnt even been on a single promo picture for s2 yet, i'm starting to worry if he'll exist in s2... and it scares me
new artstyle doesn't look terribad, but i liked the old one better

I do that too.

There's something about Try that sucks the excitement out of anything. It's mostly knowing how awful the main characters are and how they're going to brute force and plot armour their way through every fight without ever learning anything. Really bad season so far compared to season 1.
At least I finally got a good avatar of a GM in its natural state out of it.

It doesn't help it's a different director and that Ral's original va had to leave the project due to medical reasons
Spice and Wolf is actually pretty good.
Just yesterday I finished rewatching all of Spice and Wolf since the first time I watched it, I was too stupid to comprehend what was going on the first time around, but after the 2nd time I think I got it all down. Anyway the ending of S2 pretty much had me yearning for more Spice and Wolf and after learning that the light novels go on way more after S2, I decided to buy the books. Should I start reading the novel where the anime left off or start from the beginning for maybe some little details that hasn't made into the anime.

I'm not saying it was a BAD show, I'm just saying I didn't care for it that much. Got bored and ran through a bit more of it and most the reasons I stopped watching it were the same more or less throughout season 1. Holo is a fairly unlikable character with little to no redeeming qualities. She acts like a stuck up spoiled brat for most of the series with a know it all don't need your help attitude, and makes me dislike her as a character. This would be okay if it was established that she was changing her ways throughout the first season with mild-subtle changes, however these are more or less non-existent and any progression is wiped out during the next episode or next few minutes after her change in nature. [sp] Not to mention "loneliness is why I act this way" is so cheap to give a character as a flaw.[/sp] I liked the talks about economics throughout the series but would have been more invested if I was given a reason to care. To me Lawrence seemed to be doing fine as a current merchant/trader/etc; hell he even had people who wanted to go in business with him throughout the show, so the fact Holo was super good at barter/selling/trading wasn't much of a reason to get interested in them just "attempting getting richer".
If there was a spin on Lawrence being a bad yet self proclaimed good salesmen, or like Holo is actively learning about human society/greed and through the series it progressively rubs off on her; that could have added some "spice" to the series. It just felt like the characterization was fairly weak.

With the light novels, you get a lot more dialogue with Lawrence and Holo in between their travels to different cities and the the anime also skips over the 4th volume
Each volume is around 200-400 pages so it shouldn't take you long to catch up with the anime if you're a fast reader
You guys should give the light novels a try, much better than the anime.
