While I think of examples, I'm going to drop one of my favourites that I like to go on and on about, Seirei no Moribito, which I particularly like because everybody is a sane and rational human being who makes logical decisions and don't fall into drama tropes.

All good, I normally only watch anime with others in a hotel/airport/stuck somewhere as I wait to travel around the world. If it is over the top bad we make fun of it, but it gives us something to do while drinking and waiting in a hotel since the VPN is super slow. DAMN ASA 5525's

/m/ is the only place you'll find that tries to argue that ZZ is not canon.
They were too busy getting buttflustered at the fact that one character said "is it a super robot", because that triggers them and caused them to launch into another argument that Super and Real are not legitimate terms, featuring such highlights as several people attempting to argue that under the criteria, Super Robot Mazinger Z is actually a real robot. I wish I was kidding.
And then there's G-Reco, where for some reason roughly half of /m/ is unable to decipher the plot or characters. This has turned G-Reco into class warfare between the people who can't figure out what's going on and accuse the show of being 2deep4u and its fans pretentious elitists trying to look smart, while the other half thinks that the people who can't follow it are mouth-breathing whining retards who need to be spoonfed exposition.
/m/ is a sad, silly place.

Votoms mecha are four metres tall and there are only a couple of battles in space. They also rollerblade around and the MC goes through them like cheap cigars. If a scopedog he pilots lasts longer than a single fight it's a miracle.

I like patlabor a lot, although it's definitely not a 10/10 amazingly written aoty, it's a good episodic police drama/comedy where everything happens to be mechs.
Pretty funny when they do bomb defusal with mechs in a few episodes. It's pretty gud and I don't even like mecha so go figure.
Patlabor mechs are like 10m tall I think so maybe das too big.
