i really tried to get into shigatsu cause its really promising, but every time drama would happen or they would start moping like its the end of the world, i would remember that every character in the show is 13 years old and id get all pissed off at them characters.

Thought this was a kid's show.
So while reading Hidamari's manga I realized the anime is actually better. Since it's a pure slice-of-life, the anime has the opportunity to flesh out some of the scenes that the manga only mentions in passing, or resolves rather quickly. The thing that most stuck out to me was the part in S3 when [sp]Yuno loses her keys and has to house-surf. In the anime, they show her staying with everyone and her interactions with them, and it helps develop relationship and characters. In the manga, we only see her staying with Miya-chan. Another thing is the interactions with Natsume, you barely see her in the manga, and don't learn until volume 4 that she's secretly in love with Sae. Hell, I don't think she really pops up until Volume 3 at least. The anime had her pop up far more often, and explained a bit more about her.[/sp] The anime basically improves on the manga, since the parts that are "anime-original" don't add in stupid, frivolous things that didn't exist in the manga, but instead just flesh out scenes in the manga that could be fleshed out, and given that they had 4 seasons and a crapload of OVAs for 7 volumes of manga, it's not a big surprise.
Shirobako is everything good with the world right now. Has there even been a single episode that disappoints?

Nice job on the petite mobile suit. It's part of the reason why I want to get a second GM Sniper 2. I have the K9 but that doesn't come with that thing. Plus it'd be used for painting. It looks like it'd be fun.

It looks like a labor because the mechanical design was done by the same guy, Izubuchi. As a result a lot of the suits look like Gundam stuff run through a Patlabor filter. Particularly the GMs, which are very similar to stuff like SV1's labor but blockier.
