Elfen Lied is good, there is no reason to hate yourself for finding it entertaining.
It's not the deeply psychological insane masterpiece oh my god so beautiful and best thing in existence I love anime that it was first recieved as, as most people (me included) discovered anime.
But I've watched it 3 times over the years (exception to the rule) and although the rating went down a notch each time it's still a good show. I think my latest rewatch was early 2014 or something, 8/10, absolutely recommendable.
Lucy will forever have a place in my heart, mostly due to being the only good character in the whole show.
