So you looked up reviews for your favorite show and then judged the whole website on the one guy who happened to do that or what. Even if there's more who would do something like that you're still being quite silly.
It's not like anyone is forced to interact with other users on MAL. Probably the only social stuff that I give a hoot about is the existence of FA group and reading shitty and short recommendations which sometimes appear on the main page.

i only use mal for the info about anime (va's, episode count, airing dates etc) and keeping track

Yeah, what the hell. I'm not a particularly slow reader but in some episodes of LOGH I had to rewind constantly because of all the text I missed. In some episodes I might as well have watched them at .5 speed.
