Suffers? The fact that Accel World's MC has absolutely nothing going for him at the start and he has to work his ass off to get anywhere is one of the best things about it. Five minutes into SAO and Kirito is the strongest guy in the entire game hands-down. End of the anime for Accel World and as far as I've read Accel World MC is still a mid-tier fighter.

Now this is gonna be really be out there- but honourable mention to Brynhildr (the first one obviously). Even if the show was a steaming shitheap, it made a gamble with the lyric-free song and did a good job getting you pumped for the episode.
