My computer is pretty small/lacking in space, so I doubt I could easily get another hard drive in there.
It'd definitely be possible but I can't be bothered with the extra hassle, however slight it may be.

They aren't cheaper, and the only thing that's not universal with internal hard drives is that some are IDE's, and some are SATA. Just check it up before you buy it, and it _will_ work.
Some external hard drives come preformatted as NTFS with some shitty helper tools which I wouldn't call universal.

I just checked newegg and most of them were cheaper, but only because they were worse than the internal equivalents and it was only by like $10 or $20.
I have a 500GB WD external HDD and it's breaking down, since it drops transmissions, losts files that I transfer to it. sometimes just completety refuses connect.
I somehow managed to backup all the stuff using GNU/Linux but I need to check if I have still warranty left.
