Well, first of all, SHAFT keeps themselves very very true to the original artwork that it is adapted from, and since Bakemono is just a light novel they are quite free there so they aren't limiting themselves to the detailless style that you may find in SZS. (But it's still very detailed in it's respective way).
Second of all... You haven't seen EF have you now?

It's not that really.
It's that a lot of people don't catch up with the new posts and just jumps right in MAYBE reading the page it's on. By moving the post from the bottom of the last page and onto the new one the possibility of it being seen by people is higher. This is why I move all my massive quote posts to the next page if it's near the bottom. But I always leave a reply on the original post because it's stupid when it's "-moved to next page-". A post is a post and should act like one.

It wasn't necessarily about the candy, but I remember that in the end of the first chapter, the main character meets up with the guygirl in an empty classroom where heshe lays out two candies out in front of hirself. Heshe eats both of them, and slips the cola flavored one into the MC's mouth.
