That mountain in Trapeze looked like Mt. Fuji which is the tallest mountain in Japan, so it more likely was a representation of his huge erection.

Trapeze episode 2 was brilliant. I feel bad about ever doubting it. Also I really don't think it's a reference at all. Chunky's explanation seems correct. Still, it's up to ones own interpretation.
