What to say?
Well first of all you guys seem to have completely missed the fact that she also mentioned torrents.
She's right all the way. She mentions how most of the target audience can't afford to support the industry. She mentions legal streaming options and yadda yadda.
But I couldn't care less about anything said there because it's something mostly directed at the USA. Here in Norway there are a few mangas translated into Norwegian and then some english titles in some hidden away shops somewhere in nowhere, and if you find it it's ridicilously expensive and you'd need to cash out 1/10th of a salary in order to obtain one series.
And basically as it is also stated the Japanese companies (by the use of a video a company made), while not filthy ritch at all manages to live, at least the ones that actually produces stuff that is good and worth watching. Hell, new competition still comes. Studios like Gonzo that has financial problems however were their own cause of this thinking fanservice would get them enough money to survive... Especially by censoring the DVD's.
So I don't care, but getting rid of the illegal streaming sites filled with idiots thinking they know all that and contradicting themselves all the time wouldn't be such a bad idea.

I call it utter crap quality that is blurred to hell and is not what you're paying for.
Learn to sharpen and make stuff that is actually made for the intended resolution it'll be published in (the border is pixelated, could also possibly be a shit encode job). I say.
I pray to God that it's just some jerk that fucked up the encode when it comes to the pixelation. But the lack of quality (especially making the image sharp) in something that is supposed to be quality is entirely the company's fault.

As far as the whole Anime - Illegal Streaming/Torrenting stuff goes, I'll buy stuff when I get a job and can afford it. College students aren't exactly known for having incredible amounts of money to blow on stuff.
