The problem is, these days FP is filled with little fucking babies. ~Myst continually goes on about how he was ravaged, but, shock horror, everyone in the GMF's been hazed. When I got gold in 2010 I burst in like a retard and made a dumb thread, Jimbomcb and most of the OGs owned the fuck out of me. So I left, like someone who isn't totally retarded would do, and lurked occasionally. When I started posting again I got hazed a bit more but it's all a fucking game, if you take it seriously you're either severely autistic or have delusions of grandeur. I'm a regular now, and the hazing that kids get these days is fucking menial, which makes the bitching "oh it's the WORST FORUM EVER!!!!!!!! they are poop faces" even more asinine.
Garry changed it a day before I was about to get gold.
I was supposed to turn gold this year,then garry changed it to 5 years and now I have to pay if I want to enjoy the benefits of it(The only reason I want it is to see the occasional hilarious refugee camp posts) :(
Garry will probably change the rules one day and you'll get gold through sheer dedication to the forum. But that's just looking at the glass half full.

I remember I once though about doing the math, and at about 10 posts a day I could've gotten gold member by the end of the year or so, then it got switched over to 5 years and 100 posts, so then I just had to wait. Now I have to pay, but every now and then it goes cheap when there's a forum issue.
Refugee camp is entertaining to read, and OIFY is a good place to vent anger or something. GMF can have good links in it to cool stuff but thats about it really.
Doesn't really seem worth it when for the same amount, you could get a really good game during the Steam sales.
