It's never fun in CoD4 when you peak out for a second, only to get brought down to critical health in a matter of seconds. It's just peek and shoot on Veteran.
The only hard difficulties I appreciate are Goldeneye N64's difficulty, since it added more objectives to complete, and Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory. It gave you more realistic health, made the guards a tad smarter, and to add more of a challenge, I tried to avoid killing or knocking out any guards.
