If I had only 8GB I would not be able to do anything else whilst rendering it, but since I have 4GB more to go on I can still browse the net and work on hi-res things in Photoshop without a problem.

I'm talking about Fermi cards not being made and optimized to play games. They can play games of course, we had fermi cards in our school computers, but they are not produced specifically to perform well on them.

Not moving onto a new Geforce generation in a long while, the 260 GTX perfoms more than well enough at the moment, and as I said I have already tweaked some settings to make my 260 perform the same way a 480 does when it comes to taking advantage of it.

This card is simply way too hot, and can often raise the ambient temperature of my room by at least 5 degrees while playing a game. Nvidia just throws money at everything giving them exclusives, and it works like a charm.
