Agree. The first big scene of the film [sp]With the closeup of the ladys face as she's vaporised[/sp] creeped me out a little.
Also I have a theory for what those lasers the tripods used were made of. I think the weapons fired a concentrated, highly potent beam of electrons, so in other words I think those were electron beam weapons.
