two thoughts.
Fallout with better animations and art design.
I'd love it more of the random freezes put the wonderful voice acting and gorgeous animations of sync.
If there is a fix for that I will love you.
Victoria II. It's probably better than it's more popular cousin Eu3.
THE GODFATHER

great game second one can suck it though

The only game that actually ends [sp]with you being a badass mafia boss instead of "TEACHING ME A LESSON THAT CRIME DOES, NOT, PAY. for the 564th time.[/sp]

Imagine if WWE, Tekken, and Streets of Rage had a baby...
It's one of the best beat 'em ups I've ever played. Controls were simple, animations were smooth, environments were interactive, and combat was extremely fluid. It was mostly criticized for it's long campaign for a "meh" single player storyline. If they trimmed down the length of the campaign, it would've fared well.

I think that this FPS had perfectly merged close-quarters combat with shooting and cinematics. I don't honestly remember much from it besides it's visuals, but I know for sure it didn't have the "hold x to trigger kill cutscene". It felt like a predesscor to Mirrors Edge.

probably not, seeing id backed off on post-launch support super fast after seeing its reception

Fallout is a thousand billion times better in terms of lore, atmosphere and amount of content. Rage was boring and dull

got great reviews, nevertheless people still found a ton of flaws with it just because it wasn't an original Devil May Cry game.
Personally my favourite DMC game right after three.

I love these games, first played them as a child. And as far as I know not much people know about this game.
The next Oddworld games aren't so good though.

The game was good, feels like Heavy Rain.

Oh and another game to add

Literally no one I ask has heard of this game. Given it's gameplay I suppose it is pretty niche these days but every fan of the space genre should play this, let alone know of it imo.
Valkyria Chronicles

Such as shame the sequels had to be done on PSP, they can't capture just how beautiful this game was. Shame they never put some form of online battles in the first one.

Not only was it a brilliant game, but you could tell it had five years worth of time and effort poured into it by a very passionate team. Deserved a much bigger fanfare than it received.
Some things about it were bad (like how they didn't include the Montreal hub if I'm not mistaken, boss fights although I didn't have a problem with those tbh, and the anti-climatic end level and end), but despite that, it should had won an award or something. It was REALLY good.
This game was EXTREMELY underrated. It really deserves more attention. Its story was pretty much Academy Award Winning material. The gameplay was deep and the mechanics were amazing. It's a shame that no body played it.

This game is way more polished and smooth compared to deadrising 2. I don't understand why developers didn't stick with the same engine.

I know it's a little polarising, but this game was an FPS unlike any other FPS I'd ever played. So badass.

I had a blast with this game, but I have never heard anyone mention it. Ever.

This game's storyline can be described in one word: "Beautiful". You litterally single-handedly resurrect the entire world from nothing, help mankind reinvent itself and all because you opened a little box in the basement...

Big yes to both of these. I enjoyed Parasite Eve 2 even though I've never been a big fan of RE style fixed-camera shooters, and Terranigma was one of my favourite SNES RPGs. I'm not sure it qualifies as underrated though, just old.
I have never encountered a living soul who has even heard of Terranigma. My brother found the snes cartridge under a pile of junk in a small store in a small fishing village 15 years ago and bought it. Probably the game that has given most feels ever.

This game had a sick plot twist though, love it wish I didn't sell it back.

It was definitely a strange plot, guiding life on earth through it's entire history. Once humanity arrived you could head to japan and visit the headquartes of Enix software iirc. Weird.
