This quote has something about it I like, since most of the game, your first instinct toward anything you can interpret as hostile is to kill it, yet you are presented an alternative view late in the game that you may have ignored uness you made an effort to preserve ammo for self defense only. In case of feral mutants, it's very agreeable, but when you can avoid putting a bullet into anybody, why shouldn't you?
