its because of the name discrepancy, i haven't fully moved away from what my forum name says. that sounds a little mean its not meant in a mean way
Sometimes game starts without text in main and pause menus. I can connect to server using console command. Arch Linux
This happens when kernel.unprivileged_userns_clone=0, chromium won't load
Pushed a bunch of Linux things recently. The fonts should be a little less stupidly sized and crash dumps should generate in steamapps/common/GarrysMod/crashes. Email them to willox@facepunchstudios.com if you want, thanks. It still doesn't default to 64-bit (whoops), so if you want to make sure you launch the 64-bit build and not the 32-bit one, you need to go to your Steam library and make sure you launch the game there so that the dialog appears. This is intended. Some sort of message saying Chromium hasn't been loaded will be added at a later date (better than not loading at all, right?)
Thanks for the work on the Linux build. It's a massive improvement over what we were dealing with previously. I've just got two things to comment on that pertain to it. BASS works great; well, it did until I updated to Ubuntu 19.04. Now it just returns a code 40 (BASS_ERROR_TIMEOUT) with any audio input. I hope this is something that can be resolved, but I'm not sure whose problem this is. Many font problems are fixed, but font weight still doesn't apply in Linux GMod. I'm wondering if something can be done to address this because it results in notably inconsistent experiences between platforms. I read this thread here which seems to propose some kind of solution. Is this something that can be fixed officially in some capacity, though? Appreciate the work you've put in and how far things have come. Thanks again. Looking forward to future updates
Running into an interesting issue that results in a CTD. When a decent number of complicated particle effects are going which are otherwise perfectly stable and low-impact (no FPS drop) when created, upon re-entering render distance on the client, if there's too many of these entities with particle effects attached to them, it CTDs. The particles are created using ParticleEffectAttach() in a very simple entity. There's an obvious stutter when re-entering the render distance for these same entities on 32-bit, but no crash. I can provide more information and such if needed. I've attached the dump file just in case it's of any use for figuring out the issue. 2a82abc5-2fba-4932-9026-994b93d1d996.dmp
When I try to open GMOD with the beta it crashes immediately and says this: "Platform Error: bad module 'ServerBrowser', not loading"
What OS?
that's the error you get when trying to start 64 bit on macOS
Willox, please stick this in the Chromium launch options so videos can Autoplay again, I'm actually dying: --autoplay-policy=no-user-gesture-required
There is no macOS build yet done
with the release of macOS 10.15 in September dropping support entirely for 32 bit software, has any progress been made with the x86_64 support on macOS? it's been a while since anyone has really mentioned it.
